Ubisoft showed off some Splinter Cell Blacklist gameplay at gamescom this week, and it might look familiar to anyone who tuned in during E3.
The 12-minute demo takes us through a Middle Eastern outpost as Sam, who (to no one's surprise) winds up in a spot of trouble before he can complete his objective. Commentary is provided by creative director Maxime Beland.
New gadgets, weapons, and a "Killing-in-Motion" mechanic will be featured in Blacklist, thus reinventing this stealthy franchise. Granted, we're not sure how the stealth-to-action balance is going to be in Blacklist, but we're really hoping Ubisoft keeps the series' predominantly stealthy identity.
We will be playing as Sam Fisher again, of course, operating under the newly-formed Fourth Echelon. As he goes on the search for the terrorists behind the Blacklist, a series of attacks on U.S. assets across the globe, Fisher will need to once again act above the law to achieve his goals. Go, Team Fisher.
