Independent developers Giant Sparrow received quite the response to their odd painting title on the PlayStation 3, Unfinished Swan. Luckily it was a big enough response to keep the team growing so they could start their next project -- announcing Edith Finch (working title). Currently there's no release date, no platforms, no details really, but there is a single piece of concept art.
See, Edith Finch may quite literally be years away from release -- Unfinished Swan took three years. Still, Giant Sparrow is learning a little bit about building publicity for independent games and wants to start early... very early. Today marks the start of what they've termed talking about their game in "broad strokes." That said, Giant Sparrow doesn't really have much else to say beyond they're hiring!
It's likely that Giant Sparrow, much like a number of other studios, wrapped up their contract with Sony after finishing Unfinished Swan and is now in the process of finding financial support somewhere else. As such, it can't hurt to get the public interested in what you're working on, even if you can't really talk about what you're working on just yet. Well, it worked! Can't wait to hear more about Edith Finch in Giant Sparrow's next broad stroke.
