gamescom's first day of being open to the public has kicked off and gamers are discovering the wonders of the showfloor. Warner Bros. has open stations to play Guardians of Middle-Earth, and two new characters for attendees to try out. Aragorn's father Arathorn is now in the mix, as is Runsig, a servant of the Witch-king. Also, because an announcement isn't the same without a trailer too, we have the latest Battle Profile -- starring Legolas and the Witch-king.
Arathorn, father of the king himself Aragorn, is the requisite stealthy warrior class in Guardians of Middle-Earth. His skills include a ranged stun, an AOE slow, an attack speed buff, and his ultimate allows him to deal damage and stealth in the midst of battle. Runsig was raised in the mines of Angmar where he learned of explosives, eventually becoming a siege engineer and Captain of the Witch-king. His skills includes the creation of a catapult, support shields, and then buffs to movement speed, health and attack speed.
Guardians of Middle-Earth's roster is coming together piece by piece; with such an wonderfully realized world the difficulty is in who doesn't make the list. Who would have thought Arathorn or Runsig would make the game? Still, it's great to see Monolith building a game for fans of Middle-Earth, not just fans of the movie franchise.
