I'm usually great at defending on all football games I play but I just can't defend vs the cpu on the last 2 FIFA's. Against human's I'm okay but I feel like I can't quite get it right against the cpu, whatever I do they do something else. If I close them down myself they just turn past me, if I contain them they just pass it around me, if I team mate contain them and mark others they find a pass somewhere and if I back off and use LT to follow them as best as I can they just sprint past me and whip a cross in.

Not too bothered though because I hardly ever play offline, only playing the demo because it's new.

Last year my mate always wanted to one up me on Fifa, so he played Arsenal against Spurs on legendary mode and won 3-2. I played the exact same line-up and difficulty with a restart match and drew 1-1. Then, I played him with the exact same team as the legendary CPU had and beat him 4-1.

He could play legendary, I really struggled at it but he couldn't actually get anywhere near me whenever we played matches against each other. Never known a football game this gen as last year's Fifa for being so different between playing Human and CPU players.

JohnnyPizzaMaN I've never had any trouble with penalties. You should go into the Arena and practice your penalties to try and improve.

I haven't really seemed to concede or score many last minute goals if I concede its usually pretty early on but it still seems as thought the cpu still just score when they want because if they aren't just walking there way around my defense then they rocket one in from 40 yards out no matter what I do they find a way to score and I am conceding too many goals because if my defending gets in the way of there shot or my Gk saves it and it comes back out it lands at the feet of an unmarked player who can just tap it in if they don't improve this and the defense for the full release then I wont be buying it.

Every time I hear him say it he say "Well ts the old cliche isn't it form is temporary but class is permanent and he definitely has class" never heard him mention players name when saying it..

I'm exactly the same as you. I'm not great against the CPU, especially on Legendary, I find it a real chore to win or even draw, whereas I've got friends who find it easy to win vs the CPU on high difficulty. Then when it comes to playing against each other, I basically beat everyone with ease.

I've put it down to being able to read the intentions of my mates, intercepting passes or just nullifying their style of play. Most of my mates abuse the wings, which I find easy to defend against and force them to come through the middle, where they're not used to playing. It's probably why they're able to beat the CPU by using wingplay and doing the same play, over and over to get goals.

I also find the CPU quite boring for the most part, I pretty much play all my matches online these days.

Penalties are really easy mate. If you haven't already done so, try out the penalty skill challenge when it comes up and just practice how long to hold the direction and you'll pretty much perfect it. The skill challenge shows the marker of where to aim and during actual penalties the same thing is happening but you just can't see the marker, all you can do is imagine it and you'll get the feel of when to release.

same here. I used to love playing against the cpu on previous games and career mode was my thing for ages. but last year, I barely played offline because I found it impossible to win even on world class against the cpu. online, I do a lot of predicting and make interceptions and the like, but the cpu always know what you're going to do before you do it, not to mention their ability to perform the most ludicrous of turns to remain in possession of the ball. for this reason, I've found it hard to read too much into this demo and am as a result on the fence whether to buy it or not for the first time - I'm away in college all week so my fifa time would be limited to weekends and holidays. worth €60? I'll probably end up getting it anyway though ahahah.

just an observation I've made - the first touch system seems like an extension of the impact engine to me. it's like the ball now has the same physics as another player at times, which is good I suppose if glitchyness is kept to a minimum. I like the time of day option and the difference between 12:30 and 3:00 kick-offs are actually noticeable, though snow and rain are still awful and to be avoided at all costs. flair shots are awesome. I scored a brilliant one with Lewandowski yesterday against my brother where the ball bounced behind him and he swivelled and smashed the ball into the top corner in one fluid movement, it looked class.
