general Cutback Goals

Once upon the time, around Road To World Cup '98, they were the only way to score and never criticised...but we've come a long way since then.

Offline I just try to score good goals against the AI and against mates offline we usually agree beforehand whether they're allowed or not, but online is a bit of a grey area.

I try to avoid scoring them at all costs, I'll just shoot rather than cutback and like to play a game full of sportsmanship, unfortunately not all my opponents do. I rage any time someone scores one against me. In fact it puts me in a huff and I'll cut back or cut-in + finesse or do whatever it takes to score pretty much because by this stage the opponent is no longer a fellow Fifa player, they're the scum of the earth.

Though If the person plays like a twat with 50 fake rabons from kickoff it's fair game.


What's your opinion on cutback goals? Fair game or lynch-worthy?

If I'm playing against mates we don't do them. Online, there are no rules. If you don't do them, your opponent will.

I don't think I'll ever trust another human again after I played someone on Fifa 11 and with we both ignored so many opportunities to cutback and were playing an honest, fair game...

When in the 118th minute he cut it back only to smack the bar!

I love a beautiful goal and will always try to score one, both against A1, online and against mates. If I'm losing against the A1, I'll do it. Online, I won't do it unless the guy is a wanker or they do it. I'd rather lose with a bit of pride and satisfaction knowing they resorted to cutback goals to score against me, and against mates I never do them, unless of course they're being a twat.

They've made it so easy to score and it's so predictable. You can attack the same way and nearly every time you will score if you're approaching it with a jewish stance aha.

I do what I can to avoid them, unless I haven't had any other opportunities. If my opponent has 90% of possession and I know I'm not going to get another chance, I'll go ahead and make sure I can capitalize on the few opportunities I have available. On more evenly matched games in regards to who has the ball, I have a lot more shot attempts so I try not to resort to the cheap tactics if I can.

I don't see the problem with cutting the ball back. No point shooting from stupid angles when there is a guy in the middle who has a better chance. What I don't like is when somebody is one on one and they wait until the goalkeeper comes out and pass it to somebody else for and open goal.

i score them everywhere as long as it's not gainst my friends. I don't see why not really they happen very often in real life and it's a fair way to score it's not like there impossible to stop! So yeah why not use that technique?

If I'm struggling in a game, then I'd probably score one. It might be irritating, but it's a legitimate tactic, especially if the other guy is being an arse. In that case, I love scoring them as I know how annoyed the other guy will be!

If I can, I generally don't try to score them, and the way I play I don't get many opportunities to anyway...
