In MW3, my most used guns were the PM9, and the AA12. if you ask any of my friends, you would know that i hardly ever used good guns in that game because they were just boring, i had gold on everything in the game except for a few of the LMG's the MP7, and the RSASS. I played the OBJ more than anyone i knew, and i never really went for amazing kill games, i favored winning over a good KD even though i could do better than most with some of the worst guns in the game. if i only used ACR MP7 the whole time, then i wouldave been a 3KD player easily.
Some of you like
ajax and
hu1ch13 seem to have the impression of me that i only care about kills and stats, and i constantly use the best guns in the game, but thats not the case at. I didn't base a youtube channel off of gameplay for the reason that i didn't want to hold myself to a high standard that i knew i would be frustrated keeping, but i do like to get the best gameplay i can just to put in the background of a video because some people do care about it. i turn off the screen when i watch other peoples videos, and if i could be the "black screen commentator" i would be. what makes a entertaining youtube video to me isn't gameplay, its the content that goes along with it.
i never said i would end BO2 with a 1KD, the whole reason im getting matched up with amazing players is because my SPM is so high and my other stats aren't too shabby either, but if everyone gets matched up with people that are exactly their skill level, then everyones stats would be exactly average, even though some of those players are much better than the rest.
i would like my stats to be lower to be completely honest, if i wanted to exploit the system and get scrub lobbies i could, but why should i only be able to play the people that are just as good as me? doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of being "good" at the game. If bad players get the same results as good players stats wise, by the games logic, the guys who used to have .5KD's in other games are just as good as the guys who used to have 2.5KDs in past cods.
When i first started playing i had a .62 KD, and the only reason that got any better is because i was constantly getting my ass kicked and i had to try harder to become a better player, they never babied bad players in past CoD's so why should they start now? i should get the advantage over the average player because im better than them, but making everyone average makes the game much less enjoyable for good players.i dont have any problem with competitive games either, i like stomping a full party, but i dont want to do that every game i play. if i want to screw around and still be able to get the win, then i should be able to do that like in the other games.
Be honest, you would much rather play a bad team than OpTic scumpii, nadeshot, and the other pros, because they would destroy you and it wouldnt be very much fun. its a learning experience for sure, but when you have people of equal skill compete, what it really comes down to is connection because everyone is theoretically the same.
I seem to remember a lot of your videos being MP7 videos (and I do remember PM-9 videos as well actually), so if that's wrong I apologize, but it definitely gave me the impression that you only cared about KD (some of them were Free For Alls as well, where there is no objective), so basically, say what you want about the objective and you, I don't mind, but I've seen little proof. Not really relevant. but also in that video, you're using a silenced MSMC..
"I'm probably going to end this game with somewhere around a 1 KD," so I don't know what you're saying, but it's a pretty big stretch to say that EVERYONE will have an exactly an average KD. If your KD and stats drop as a result of playing against players better than you (is this your complaint?) then you'll just end up playing against players than that you can beat, and it'll go up again. I think skill based matchmaking is still alright, because it's making everyone improve (contrary to what you say, noobs playing noobs means that one noob will get better, and then play against better players, which he improves against, despite being beaten at first, similar to your analogy about yourself getting trashed at first and wanting to get better), it's not like everyone has to play good players to get better, realistically speaking if you're playing someone your skill level, you'll improve somewhat, no matter whether you're both bad or both good.
The fact is the matchmaking doesn't forgo connections at all from what I've seen, otherwise I would be playing against some guys (probably Americans) who have a 0.01 SPM difference to me, but that's not the case. I think you've just exaggerated most of your points. If I were to constantly play people with a SPM similar to mine, you can't assume that my KD would just drop back to 1. Hell, yesterday I had the worst connections ever as a result of my father downloading huge files off the internet, and I still maintained a 1.7 KD against players who are, according to you, the same as my skill level. I think skill based matchmaking may be there, but you really are exaggerating everything you say, it's not all that prevalent. Maybe setting your search preferences to "Best" may help though, that's what mine's set on, and it pretty much gives me the best connections.
Again, my rebuttal to your fourth paragraph is that you're completely missing the adjustment of a player's SPM, and thus, their position in the matchmaking will change. This game will eventually sort everyone into a bracket that they can either play well and win most games, or play poorly and be somewhat punished, there will not be some "rising up to be king noob," who then continues to only play noobs. No, he'll progress in the system and get better, it's about encouraging you to be your best, and if you don't want to do that in one game, just accept you might not win. That's how it should be anyway, if you muck around, you're not exactly doing your best for the win.
Yeah for sure I'd rather play a bad team than the OpTics, I even said how fun one particular lobby was where none of them were over level 30. But did I learn anything from that game? Hell no. I learnt something from the people around my prestige, and I can see a lot of improvement in my gameplay as it is. I'm essentially arguing the opposite to what I think your main argument is: that playing against good players doesn't improve you, but that noobs do? Well I'd much prefer to play the good players, with, definitely, the occasional abysmal set of players. Why? So I can cushion my stats agains the bad players, and then still learn from those better than me

Oh and about the fact that the skill based matchmaking can be exploited: I guess you're technically right that it can be, but I guess if you're in any way good at this game, you take at least a little pride in your stats, so I don't really know who would be doing that dumb "reverse boosting" you explained, but I want you to tell me who is, and keep me updated, using stats on how that goes
