multiplayer Black Hat Appreciation Thread

This little beauty is way under appreciated. In a game of TDM, I managed to get a triple-kill from campers tucked away in a building by simply hacking a Betty.

On a much more epic scale, I stunned the owner of an incoming care-package and killed him from a window. The care-package was being swarmed by enemies, but I managed to hack it before they got their grubby fingers on it. I soon discovered why they wanted it so bad, it was a drone swarm. Team stomping followed.

I honestly love Black Hats and have been singing their praises for a while now. I always use Engineer with them.

I've had numerous Care Package steal and hacks where I've killed the guy who called it in and stolen and hacked it from a distance only for him to be killed by his own CP.

I've also lost count of the amount of times I've gotten kills with an enemy Betty. It's one of my loves in this game, finding a guy who's camping with a Betty at his back, hacking it and then scaring him back into his own Betty.


My two best moments however went like this;

1. On Standoff, we were playing against some good players and I jumped over the brick wall onto the street there to find an enemy head-glitching at the corner of the street. He saw me and threw a Betty down on the street between me and him. Thinking quickly, I hacked the Betty and jumped back over the fence, so he gave chase, TING, death. All I heard from the after-death audio was the guy emit a soul crushing "Ohh..." When he realised how hard he'd been outplayed.

2. On Meltdown, using the AN-94, I climbed up the ladder of the building that the enemies were all spawning near to help a party-mate out who was having trouble with close-quarters gunfight while using a sniper. Killed the guy who was about to kill my party-mate, exited out of the ventilation hole, jumping down near the ladder. As I hit the ground, I saw a Betty land inside at the foot of the steps so I quickly hack it.

Less than a second later, the guy who threw the Betty down, the guy I killed upstairs and another guy I'd just killed on the way all enter the house at the same time, and all stall at the bottom of the steps to kill my party-mate who's standing on the steps shooting back at them. TING, Triple Betty kill.

Perfect combination there. Thing is so awesome, being able to destroy helicopters and guardians just by holding LB for a few seconds is amazing. Have so much fun hacking Betties etc.

Just wish it wouldn't tell the enemy their equipment had been hacked.

Yeah, it's awesome.

I use Engineer on every class, as I used Hacker on every class in Black Ops. I loved turning enemy stuff against them. So much fun.
I wish there was still a way to hack enemy sentry guns and the like. It would be awesome if you could turn an enemy AGR or something against them.

But booby-trapped care packages are the most satisfying kills you can get.

And I've got so many care packages from team mates who are stupid enough to let theirs' go over the edge.
(I don't feel bad about it, either. You know how many of my team mates steal my care packages? I rarely get my own.)

Ha, I just tried this out on your guys suggestion and it's a lot of fun.
Camper lays a claymore/betty behind him, thinks he's safe - instahack, rush in and kill. Great piece of equipment.

have you tried it with engineer?

I did, it was very effective

Although I did find myself focusing more on finding equipment to hack instead of playing the game - cost me a few gunfights.
