Indeed, which is exactly why there is a prompt before the campaign starts warning you of the graphic scenes and giving you the option to turn it off. I don't see how it's fair for them to not include the gory scenes just because a few ignorant people don't bother reading the prompt and just skip past it. I enjoy the gory stuff. It reminds me that I'm playing an adult game. Don't like the gore.. then TURN OFF the gore.

Be interesting to see how much of the gore is still kept in when you choost to play without the 'graphic' scenes, given as Pestar said it features in every mission, most of the time needlessly. With previous games the 'graphic scenes' were obvious (terrorist mission etc...), not quite sure where they'd draw the line with this one, even choosing no I'm sure you'd still see loads of throat slashing up close etc...

You're both talking as if Activision just throwing an 18 rating on it is sufficient enough 'protection'. As I said yesterday, a vast chunk of their userbase is below that age, and they're well aware of it. Their target audience is not 18 years old and over, it's gamers in general, and they're fully aware that there will be people under age playing the game and being exposed to things that even make some people over the 18 limit feel uncomfortable. They're not ignorant to it, they're not naive to it, they just protect themselves behind the 18+ limit and shift the blame across to the parents (where a large % of it does belong) instead of actually questioning why they feel the need to consistently try and 'one-up' the previous games level of gore and blood.

I've watched a fair few war films and none of them have close ups of being having their throats slashed with blood squirting out, or of people burning alive for a random cutaway introduction. If this game were a film there's not a chance some of the scenes in it would pass censorship in this country, even for an 18 rating.

Wrong. Seen a few of the Saw films, first one was just about on the borders of what I personally find acceptable, rest from then on just become a case of one-upmanship.

Which is bollocks on an ethical level. They should take some responsibility for knowingly exposing youngsters to content that features unecessarily and is in place merely for bragging rights and shock value. Again, as I've said, parents take the bulk of the blame, but the developers must share some of the blame.

Thing is. Up until World at War the series had gone fine without any of this excessive shit. And the stories were great. Seems they're worried about their story failing so they throw in a bit that will make 13 year olds go "yeah awesome" but make anyone with a mature head just wonder why it was necessary.

Yet when I explain my opinion, you don't care, so it looked like you didn't wanna discuss it. Just didn't see the point of it, as I've said I accept people have different limits of what is and isn't acceptable and tbh I wasn't expecting agreement when I posted it in here originally. Even if people don't agree with me that it's excessive (which is fine, again different limits) there's also the issue of it not serving much purpose, at least nothing more than the shock value and one upmanship I spoke of earlier.

Maps in online are a mix, some of them are just re-detailed rip offs of previous maps, some are entirely unique and brilliantly thought out, it's an odd mix. It's probably up there with one of the best tbh, just requires a bit of time to get settled with it.

Load out, designs and overall layout is wank though.

Hmm. Does it still feel like Black Ops? Or does it feel/look any different.

Even though im not really a fan of nuketown (really dislike all tiny maps really) I don't mind it all that much. But i just find it more frustrating because the quicker the gameplay = the more bullshit with lag/hit detection etc. Bit repetitive after playing it for a while too, especially the 24/7 thing. Btw, will i even have that map? Dunno if its dlc in certain ones or something.

As for the gore, i don't mind it. I can't remember what it was like in Black Ops, but in World at War it was pretty cool. It was so much harsher, more like a horror game than COD4 so it felt really different. The music, the grey colours, old school stuff and gore. Was pretty good. But of course, it was more suited to that game as well seeing as it was about the world war. Don't even know when/where Black Ops 2 is set.....in the future is it?

Also, what about new features/killstreaks? Anything that spoils it? Seem to remember something about a remote control something. Can't remember exactly but i remember thinking it looked rubbish
