One thing you've got to give Sony and SuperBot credit for, they're taking PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale's meta very seriously. Strategy and tactics are primary topics of conversation during dev talks and interviews, and now official trailers featuring strategic discussion are being lined up for release. Today bears the introduction of two of these strategy trailers, one for Kratos and the other for Killzone's Radec.
Kratos's main weapon are his blades of chaos, which allow him to champion mid-to-short range combat. Most of his abilities focus on initiating or counter-initiating into close range fights, where Kratos can combo grapples and regular attacks for maximum damage. Radec, on the other hand, is a ranged fighter designed to maintain distance between himself and his opponents. Grenades, flamethrowers, and the powerful arc-cannon provides Radec with a distinct technological advantage, if anything... just don't let opponents pull you in a melee battle.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is positioning itself to be a competitive fighter to take the stage with both Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom, but only if its audience takes it as serious as the developers seem to be doing. Hopefully, and at its hard I doubt it's even possible not to be, the title still focuses on pure arcade style fun -- the kind you get from setting down with a few friends and a drink.
