How to defeat Braska's Final Aeon?

Hmmm... this battle was tough for me. I took a really long time in defeating his first form using mostly Rikku's Holy (don't ask why she knows it, she's got 1 Mp cost)But then he pulled a weird sword out of his chest and then I died in about 10 minutes. Any tips on defeating him? (Weaker party strategy?) I was using mostly Tidus (haste) Auron (highest Hp) and Rikku (holy). I'd rather not repeat this battle until i know I can win.

If you still have Wings to Discovery, you know what to do.

You want it easy?

Trio of 9999 + Kill the Pagodas in one hit each + BlitzAce + Attack Reels + Attack = Dead BFA.


Other than that?

Stoneproof (20x Petrify Grenades) on your armors to make is much easier to deal with Jecht Beam. Zombieproof (10x Candles of Life) to deal with the zombification from Triumphant Grasp in the first form. Then add anything else you feel like adding.

Get the Petrify Grenades by capturing one of each Monster in Djose Highroad (Don't forget the Ochu's on the MoonFlow). The Candles of Life by capturing one of each Monster in Mushroom Rock road. You'll get 99 of each, enough to customize 4 armors of Stoneproof, and 9 armors of Zombieproof. Steal one more Petrify Grenades from a Basilisk to make one more armor with Stoneproof if you want. If you want, you can use 30 of the Candles of Life to customize zombiestrike on Auron's weapon to help induce zombie and stop the healing of the pagodas.
You'll also get 60x Three Stars after unlocking those creations. Use those to customize One MP Cost on Lulu's and Yuna's weapons. You'll still have enough of them to customize One MP cost on one more weapon. I'd say either Tidus (so he can use Quick Hit over and over) or Auron (so he can use Power Break over and over).

Also, capture one of each Monster in Besaid (there's only three of them) to get 99x Stamina Tonics.

Now, go Bribe a Grendel (found in Gagazet Cave/Road to Zanarkand) for Mega-Potions.


As for the battle itself:

Have Tidus cast Hastega. Switch Rikku in (haste her too) and have her Use A Stamina Tonic on the party to double their Max HP. This lasts till they're killed (which shouldn't happen). Now, switch your people around and throw Stamina Tonics till you have Double HP and Haste on all the people you want to use. Now, Bring in your main party, and Have Tidus use His Cheer special five times. This will reduce the damage from BFA's normal attack, overdrives, and Sword swipe by 33%. Cast Protect on your frontline party as well. Meanwhile, Auron just uses Power Break over and over to keep the damage from BFA's normal attack at bay. When BFA's nearing OD, make sure that you've already double'D your HP and casted Cheer 5 times. now, it'll not kill anyone, unless you're really underleveled.

From now on, just unleash whatever attacks you want on him. Haste + Cheer *5 + Protect + Double HP will make sure it's VERY hard for you to die, unless you forget to heal from some reason or another. Now, you've got your Mega-Potions. Those will heal you for 2000 HP a pop (all frontline party), use those to heal when you need to.

In the second form, he'll start using Sword Swipe, but, you shouldn't have a problem keeping up with it. Heal with mega Potions and keep on the assault. Triumphant Grasp, and Ultima Jecht Shot shouldn't be able to kill anyone , so just keep an eye for healing and hack away.

Holy, Double Cast Flare, Auron's Attack (if you gave him One MP Cost have him use Power Break instead of his normal attack), Quick Hit (Again, if you gave him One MP cost). Overdrives, anything you want.

he shouldn't be a threat with all that preparation.

That is incredibly over-levelled for BFA, and thus a poor strategy to recommend.

Speak to the Arena manager again.

He'll tell you that he has created a "nasty beast", and fork over 60x Farplane Winds. Save those or now.

Now, to get your other prizes, just repeatedly speak to the manager till doesn't give you anything any more (Talk to him, after he gives you a prize the menu will open. Exit and talk again. The Chat function won't do you any good).

I should also mention that it's worth putting the Alchemy ability on the weapon of Rikku (if you're gonna use her in your main party, otherwise, Tidus/Yuna will do). You can customzie it by using 4x Healing Waters (normal Steal from Adamantoise Inside Sin or in Omega Ruins). This will double the HP Healing effect of your potions. Making Mega-Potions heal your for 4000 HP a pop instead of 2000. Not necessary, but quite helpful. especially that Rikku is quite fast (especially with Haste), so she can heal you quick.

BTW, to open that chest in the arena, you need to have the Celestial Mirror. An item that you can get now.

Head over to Remiem Temple, and win the Chocobo Race there. You'll get a Cloudy Mirror.

Head on to Macalania Woods now. In the screen where there's the save sphere, you'll see a woman and her son. Talk to both of them, and they'll mention something about their missing husband/father. Head right three screens, and one screen up. You'll find the husband. Tell him that his family is waiting for him. Now, go back to where the woman and the child were, you'll find the woman and her husband, but not the kid. Speak to each of them twice, they'll mention stuff about their son going missing. Now, see that little crystal shiny path a bit to the north? Take it. Go with the path, and after a bit ( and a screen later), you'll see a fork heading north. Take it, you'll see the kid infront of a giant plant thingy, and you'll be prompted to use the Cloudy Mirror. Do so, it'll be upgraded to the Celestial Mirror. Remember this place, you'll be using it to power up your celestial weapons later on when doing the side quests (If you want to after you beat the BFA, reload your last save and do the side quests). The Celestial Mirror will allow you to open chests/magical seals housing your characters celestial weapons, like the one in the Arena which has Yuna's Nirvana in it.

What you do, is if you haven't already, go to the Calm Lands, and then rent a chocobo, then walk over to the entrance to Macalania Woods on the South side, where you first came in, and then ignore the opening and run over to the edge, which there will be a Chocobo Feather, press X on it, then fly to another entrance, and then just go in.Then, go across the bridge and then go to the left, and then you will find a sphere, read it, and then go back to the bridge and turn right, and then press X on the Chocobo waiting for you and you will have to race the Champion Chocobo. Along the way, open up 3 treasure chests, and beat the Champion Chocobo and you will get 30 wings of discovery! Then, go back and make sure all your Aeon's overdrives are up, as well as Rikku's and Tidus's.Then go and meet Jecht again, and then on Yuna's first turn switch her out with Rikku, and have her mix 2 Wings of Discovery making the Trio of 9999, which enables your hits to cause 9999 damage, (including Fire Gems etc..) Have Auron hit him once, and then use Tidus's overdrive Slice and Dice on him, and then you can move on to the next form.Now, switch Tidus out for Yuna, and have her summon all of her aeons and have them use their overdrives on him.Then just keep hitting him and healing with Yuna and Rikku, and try to get Rikku's overdrive up again so she can Mix 2 more wings of discovery. And that should get him.. (oh, and use Slowga on the Yu Pagodas, Jecht is immune) And try to have Yuna's Celestial weapon,(Customized with Moon Crest and Sigil), so each of her magic spells will only cost 1 MP. Good luck!!!
