I noticed the FFX threads are way bigger than the FFX-2 threads.

Pick up Kyou in Djose I think. And you will need the airship to get any of the psyches but they are worth it because they are easily the best team statwise in the early levels and are still good at later levels.

Glad to see you noticed Yes, they generally don't start with great techs but it isn't hard to pick up Eigaar or Blappa with sphere shot which makes their high shot that much more useful. I've already stated that I prefer Eigaar, but techwise they are only as good as you make them. My Berrik that I use as a defender learned third level attack skills very early on but I don't remember which ones.
