Everyone has heard about the Final Fantasy X HD update coming PlayStation 3, right? Last word was the project was still in limbo, but true case may be that the scope of the project has grown. Rumors broke earlier today that Square Enix was working to include Final Fantasy X-2 on the disc, which was later confirmed via leaked scans of the latest Japanese magazine Jump. Worth a bit of a delay, right?
In addition to Final Fantasy X-2 on the disc, both ports will be of the fancy international versions with all of the extra content that implies. Basically, whenever this package gets released we can expect it to be the ultimate Final Fantasy X collection, with more Yuna than any one disc should ever hold.
Note here that this is for the PlayStation 3 version of the collection, which has yet to even be officially confirmed by Sony or Square Enix. The PS Vita version, however, has been confirmed, but the latest twist is that the two games won't be packaged together here. Apparently the titles will fit on a Blu Ray disc, but not on the PS Vita's memory card things. Of course, maybe there's a digital answer for this, cross play, blah blah we'll find out soon.
Odds are we'll likely hear more about Final Fantasy X's HD update soon and I can't imagine the title not being released in 2013. Maybe matching up against Nintendo's HD Wind Wake? Time will tell! Good to hear Square Enix, with the addition of Final Fantasy X-2 HD, really wants this to be everything fans could want and nothing less.
