SCARED TO START AGAIN

IM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I HAD WHEN I PLAYED FF8 AND FF9 AND THAT IS I GET CLOSE TO THE END OR RIGHT AT THE END AND FIND OUT THAT I HAVN'T AQUIRED IMPORTANT THINGS NEEDED TO FINISH THE GAME... IM PLAYING FF10 AND AM AT THE BATTLE WITH YUNALESCA AND ONLY NOW HAVE I STARTED READING STUFF FROM OTHER PLAYERS ABOUT HOW TO DEFEAT CERTAIN BOSSES AND ALLOT OF THE STUFF THEY SAY TO USE I HAVN'T GOT YET...WHICH IS WHY I CAN'T BEAT YUNALESCA... (EG: NO ONE HAS THE ABILITY TO DISPEL... THATS JSUT ONE EXAMPLE)... IVE BEEN READING IN HEAPS OF FORUM PAGES AND OTHER SITES ABOUT ALL THESE THINGS YOU NEED TO GET ON YOUR JOURNEY BUT NONE OF THEM ARE IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER AND ITS REALLY CONFUSING..."YOU NEED TO GET THIS AND THAT, BUT TO GET THEM YOU NEED TO HAVE ALREADY OBTAINED THIS BUT TO GET THIS YOU ALSO NEED THAT"...

IS THERE A SUMMARY SORT OF THING, NOT A COMPLETE CHEAT GUIDE TO SPOIL IT, BUT SOMETHING THAT SAYS..OK, "CHAPTER ONE OR WHATEVER, YOU NEED TO GET THIS, THIS, AND THIS..." AND SO ON... JUST TO TAKE AWAY THE FEAR OF ENDING UP IN THE SAME SITUATION ALL OVER AGAIN...

There's no "right way" of getting through an RPG. Everyone has their own approach to battles. I never used Dispel and made it to the end just fine.

And you could always pay Yojimbo enough to perform Zanmato ^^

As for defeating Yunalesca, there is no real limit to the way in which you can defeat her, and there is no need to have Dispel, though it does help. My only real problem when fighting her was the fact that she could turn your characters to have a Zombie state so that healing spells would hurt them.

If that happens, make sure you cure the state with Holy Water.

Other than that, if you are seriously having problems, why don't you try grinding a little to level up your AP so that you can buy more sphere nodes on the Spheregrid to upgrade your character's statistics?

Well, the best thing to do would be to level up a little more out in the Zanarkand Ruins. The Defenders usually give a lot of Exp.

Typing in capital letters is supposed to denote an emphasis on a word, or rather that you are more vehemently voicing that word. When used in solo context as one word capitalised it draws attention to the word and showsits importance.

Typing out everything in capitals is believed to be, and usually taken as, a person yelling, or someone that is desperate. If you type like that on here, you are going to get defensive attitudes toward your posts.

or you can have 3 charactors that are zombied,kept out of the active party except to take mega death-she has a pattern:mega death,2 turns of either hellbiter/curaga/regen,mind blast,hellbiter,curaga,or regen,then repeat. while you can keep the others cured of zombie,so her curaga/regen helps them instead of hurting them

Basically, this is the most fool-proof strategy to take on Lady Y. This works wonders on the Nsg challenges.
