 January 2022       Tottenham Luis Morales - With his side finding themselves a little off the pace in the league this season Luis has been in very good from for the Spurs side who are chasing European Glory this season. So far in just the first half of the season he has made 33 appearances for Tottenham in which he has found himself scoring 14 times from his deep central midfield position while also offering up 10 assists to find himself winning 6 man of the match awards so far.Almighty God - In his 32 starts for Tottenham in the first half of this season, God finds himself level on goals with his main rival, and ex team mate Simon Andersson, for the IA Academy Best Scorer this season having found the back of the net an amazing 27 times to take home 11 man of the match awards but he will want to improve on his 6 assists for the season, however that is unlikely with a lack of support up front for him. Manchester United After an amazing season last time around and despite topping the table at the halfway point in this season it has not all been going their own way for United. They may only be small trophies but so far this season United have failed in their bids to win not only the European Super Cup but also the Club World Cup. They did however beat rivals City to take home the Community Shield at the start of the season.Oscar Hult - In just half the season so far Hult has managed to not only play in 38 games but to score 21 times, talking home 17 man of the match awards and creating 16 more goals by way of assists for his team mates. All of this would easily make it a fantastic season but Hult has not only done all of that but he has retained his World Player of the Year award and his Ballon d'Or title in what is shaping up to be another brilliant year for the Swede. Kirk Mackintosh - .An injury to his thigh has meant that Kirk missed 5 weeks in the first half of this season but he has recovered very well to make 31 appearances for United this term to score and incredible 25 goals, putting him just 2 goals behind Simon Andersson and Almighty God, and 8 assists as he once again defended his Asian Player of the Year award to add to his 10 man of the match awards for the first 6 months of the season. Sergei Dravinski - Sergei has taken no time to establish himself in the United line up and the talented Croatian looks at home playing for United. He has so far this season put in a shift 38 times for his club who have come to rely on not only his distribution, which is once again high at 88%, but also his ability to make the tough tackles for the team with 242 of them being used on his opponents so far this season. That is all without mentioning his 8 goals and 10 assists from a deep lying midfielder it is some testament to his influence on the team that he is able to a bit of everything for United. Liverpool Ravi Parmar - With Europa League football on the cards, the one time Ballon d'Or winner Ravi Parmar has been able to make 29 starts for Liverpool so far this season as he has once again been in inspirational form for the sleeping giants of English football with the talented attacker aiding his teams cause with 12 goals and 8 assists in 12 man of the match winning appearances for the season so far.Manchester City Andres Martinez - A loss to their rivals in the Community Shield will not have helped Manchester City to welcome in this new season of football as the club are once again under performing despite having the resources to spend big in the summer. Andres Martinez can not be accused of under performing for them however as the talismanic striker has already notched 20 goals from his 29 starts for them this season in which he has been named man of the match 5 times and made 6 assists for his team mates.    Barcelona Arwel Thomas - Barcelona are once again fighting on multiple fronts and it the Academy players at the centre of this, and none is more central than midfielder Arwel Thomas who has made 36 starts for the club so far this season as he has managed to stay injury free meaning that he has been able to contribute 12 goals and 7 assists but he will want to earn more than the solitary man of the match award he currently has. His commitment is clear as the Welsh international has made 116 tackles so far as he partners Per Lindholm in the heart of the Barca midfield with his pass completion once again never leaving 75%.Busi - Busi is officially a Spanish international now and so far this season he has played 7 times in the World Cup Qualifiers for Spain as he looks to finally book his own place at a major international tournament with the World Cup coming up in the summer. Busi has been finding his form just in time to impress his national team coach with the Barcelona player now only making 12 assists in 32 starts for his club but also scoring 17 goals from his position playing just off the now 34 year old Lionel Messi. Matt Burn - After a recent sending off for Matt Burn and a subsequent fine by his club he has become disillusioned by life at Barcelona and unless something is sorted soon the reputedly best Left Back in the world may soon be leaving. They would miss him immensely after a 35 game season so far in which he has 17 assists, 11 man of the match awards, an 81% pass completion and he has made 227 tackles to keep things secure at the back for the league leaders. Nathan Holmes - Holmes has found a lot of joy playing on the left hand side of the Barcelona midfield this season with the attacker being able to play in 39 games already for the Catalan Giants but not only has he played but he has played very well indeed. With 17 goals and 17 assists to his name already with just half of the season gone it looks like being a truly fantastic for the 14 times man for match nominee. Per Lindholm - The other half of Barcelona's fierce midfield duo, he is the perfect compliment to Arwel Thomas in midfield with Per favouring the hard tackle but also being able to pass very well while Thomas is a passer who can tackle well, it means that Barca have a formidable base to build the rest of their attack on. So far Per has played in 35 games alongside Thomas in the middle for the park contributing 7 goals and 8 assists to the teams offensive efforts while also dishing out 218 of his huge tackles. Ash Harbin - Moving to Barcelona in his prime has meant that Ash Harbin has never been out of his depth like many young keepers who join large clubs so early in their careers. The Barca shot stopper will want to lock down the No1 spot in goal for England with the World Cup coming up in the summer and having only conceded 21 goals in his 37 starts so far this season to make sure he kept 18 clean sheets must surely mean that he is the favourite over Joe Hart. Real Madrid Last seasons Europa League winners will have been ecstatic that they were able to make a statement in the European Super Cup against Manchester United, and what a statement they made with a fantastic hat trick from Andersson and the 4th goal coming from Phelix they will be very dangerous in the rest of this campaign.Phelix Brown - Phelix is currently the highest scoring midfielder out of all of the Academy graduates and he shows no sign of slowing down at all in the second half of the season with the Madrid wide man featuring in 32 games so far this season. He has aided his team with 9 assists in those games but is the outstanding 23 goals that have drawn all the plaudits for the 13 times man of the match. With Australia safely through to the World Cup Finals he will not have the opportunity to impress on the biggest stage of all. Simon Andersson - Simone is in direct competition with Almighty God this season to see who can score the most goals out of all the Academy graduates, he is currently level with the Englishman as they have both scored an amazing 27 goals so far this season with Andersson playing in 33 games but he will also have to keep his eye on Kirk Mackintosh who is currently on 25 so far. Should it come down to assists to decide it then Simon is leading the others with 10 so far as he has gone on to earn himself the man of the match award 7 times.   Juventus Waka - Waka (African Player of the year) Waka (BBC African Player of the Year) Waka (Calciatore piu Amato) he just can not stop winning awards these days. The influential midfielder has so far this season made 27 appearances scoring 5 goals, creating 9 assists and has been named man of the match on 6 occasions but he will have his sights set on more than just individual awards this season as he will want to better his teams Semi Final exit in last years Champions League. ------------------- | |

June 2022  Tottenham Despite making it all the way to the Champions League Final last year, before being taken apart in the final by a revitalised Manchester United side, it was once again not to be for Tottenham in Europe as they were taken out in the First Knockout Round by Porto.Luis Morales - Luis Morales has recently been linked with a big money move away from White Hart Lane as he is reportedly unhappy with the current level of the clubs ambition. The Panama midfielder played in 45 games for his underachieving Tottenham side this season and will be attracting the attention of many clubs over the summer who will want to add his 18 goals and 15 assists this season to their own attacking line up. It is thought that the 10 time man of the match award winner would prefer to be playing in a more advanced role where he is less relied upon to put in some of the 110 tackles he has made this season. Almighty God - It was only by the one goal but once again Almighty God has made sure that he is the most lethal striker in the the Premier League as the Spurs hitman has been in lethal form producing 42 goals from his 53 starts this season but with no support for The Stache upfront he has only been able to provide 3 assists for his team in 12 man of the match performances, showing just how much Tottenham fans miss the days of God and Andersson terrorising defences across the league. Manchester United It was a fantastic season once again for Manchester United as they not only retained their Premier League title but then went on to face their rivals City in two games that really made their season for them. First off they faced them in the Capital One Cup Final where they managed to win after something of an end to end game before then learning from the experience to ensure that when the sides met again in the Champions League Final they were able to keep City at bay to grab a close fought victory.Oscar Hult - The now two times Ballon d'Or winner Oscar Hult has been in great form all season for United as they took home both the Champions League and the Premier League titles once again. He can now add the awards for Best Player in Europe and Football Writers' Player of the Year to his collection of trophies and after a season in which he has scored 26 times, assisted 22 times and been named man of the match 21 times in 54 games he can also add new records for highest FA Cup average rating and most man of the match awards to the history books. Kirk Mackintosh - Kirk Mackintosh is easily the most deadly striker to ever come from Australia and since moving to Manchester United he has not stopped scoring for the club that has defended both the Premier League and Champions League titles in a truly extraordinary season. It is Mackintosh who has spearheaded the United attack to bring home these trophies and as such he has since been named as the Champions League Best Player after taking home the Golden Boot from the tournament. In a season where he has scored an incredible 45 times in 59 starts to break his own club record, the Australian has also assisted his team mates on 14 occasions to bring home 16 man of the match awards for himself before being named as the PFA Player of the Year Sergei Dravinski - The Croatian Captain Dravinski has been in superb from for both club and country throughout the season this year. In three season with two different clubs he has now won 3 league titles and 2 back to back Champions League in what will surely go down in memory as the most successful phase of his already impressive career. He has been a main stay in the United midfield where he has played 52 times for the European Champions putting in 336 tackles to win his team back the ball before heading up the other end to score 8 times and assist 11 more thanks in part to his 89% pass completion rate coupled with his extraordinary vision. Liverpool Ravi Parmar - Despite finding his team in the easier of the two European Club Competitions this season, Ravi Parmar and Liverpool were not able to make it past fallen Spanish Giants Valencia in the knock-out rounds even with another man of the match performance from Ravi. Even with a less talented side around him the English attacker has been in great form with a reply of 23 goals and 8 assist from 48 games culminating in 18 man of the match awards but as he is now in his prime it is unlikely he will want to stay a big fish in a small pond for much longer. The man who once again broke his own club record has recently turned down a new deal to stay at the club and in what appears to be a repeat of his time at Sunderland has procalimed that he wishes to leave.Manchester City Andres Martinez - It was a heartbreaking season to be a City player this time around as the club who have underachieved in recent years managed two brilliant cup runs to the Capital One Cup Final and the Champions League Final only to discover their rivals from across the city awaiting them. It was most distressing for Andres Martinez who after breaking the club record for goals scored must have sensed that this was his year to bring home the European Crown in a season where he he scored a fantastic 38 goals in 54 games for the club. Barcelona It was all up for grabs once again this season for Barcelona and they did their best to grab everything they could, they very nearly broke 100 points on their way to yet another successive La Liga title before then beating rivals Real Madrid head to head in the Copa Del Ray Final. It was not all good news for them however as they were eliminated by the narrowest of margins, on aggregate, during their attempt to win the Champions League.Arwel Thomas - El plebbo was once again in brilliant form for Barcelona, partnering Per Lindholm in the centre of the park to provide Barcelona with an excellent basis for their attacking flair players to operate. Barcelona have made it three League titles in a row this season and the Welshman has been at the heart of all of them as he made 44 starts this season in which he was able to take home 2 man of the match awards thanks to his 11 goals and 8 assists contributed for the season. Although his pass completion was a lot higher back in the dark days at Wolves he has if anything been as consistent at Barcelona as he always achieves a completion rate of 75% or over each season while also making over 100 tackles, 143 this season, proving that he is reliable for Barca above all else. Busi - Busi seems set for a starring role in the Spanish midfield for the upcoming World Cup Finals, the once overlooked Barcelona man has played in every qualifier this season and has already been selected in the final 23 man squad who will travel to the tournament. He has once again won the Premio Don Balon Mejor Jugador with several eye catching performances this season that have seen him net 25 goals and 19 assists in just 43 starts for his club side this year and many will be hoping he can carry this fine form over to the National side. Matt Burn - After a disagreement with his manager earlier in the season, Matt Burn did look to be on his way out of Barcelona but during the second half of the season all of his problems have been solved and for now it looks like the England left back will be staying in Spain for a long time to come. This is very good news for Barcelona who would be in a lot of trouble if they had to make do without his 312!! tackles, 16 assists and 81% pass completion that has once again earned him not only 14 man of the match awards but the adoration of the Barcelona fans. Nathan Holmes - It is a shame that the Barcelona winger will not be able to feature at the upcoming World Cup as his country, Norway, failed to make it through the qualifiers despite having a player of his quality but it is clear that one superstar is just not enough to make it through a World Cup Qualification campaign. It is to the detriment of everyone that Nathan Holmes will not be there to show what he is capable of after a season where he has scored 28 times from the left wing while creating 19 more goals with his record breaking assists and 18 man of the match awards to ensure he was a lock for the Jugador del ano. Per Lindholm - In a World Cup year it is great news for Swedish fans as they have not only qualified for the tournament but that they also have a fantastic in form midfield general in the guise of Per Lindholm. With Hult and Andersson up front Sweden have lacked balance at the back in the past but Lindholm has shown for Barcelona this season that he will be able to counter balance the team all on his own after having made over 300!! tackles this season across 45 games while also finding the time to bag 9 goals and 11 assists. Ash Harbin - Ash Harbin has been given a nickname by the Barcelona faithful this season, and I know what you're thinking, surely the athletic keeper who famously shares his surname with a Chinese city meaning "a place for drying fishing nets" has been nicknamed along those lines but no!. Somehow he has ended up being El Dazzo which is apparently something to do with Shaun Williamson or a type of British washing detergent. Either way with his new nickname he has gone on to appear 47 times for Barcelona this season conceding just 31 goals and some how keeping a frankly ridiculous 21!! clean sheets in all competitions, this should easily be enough to displace Joe Hart in the England goal for the World Cup Finals. Real Madrid Somehow Real Madrid have once again finished the season empty handed as they were outpaced by Barcelona in La Liga, Outgunned by Juventus in the Champions League and then kicked in the teeth by Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey Final.Phelix Brown - The World Cup has come round at just the right time for Phelix Brown, he has been in what is perhaps the best form of his entire career for Real Madrid this season. Despite playing out wide on the left wing he has smashed in so many goals that he has been named as the La Liga top scorer this season with an astonishing return of 30 goals for his club in 44 games this season. And if that was not enough for people to see the quality of Phelix then he has also set a new club record for man of the match awards before finishing with 17 of them for the season to go with his 13 assists. Simon Andersson - Real Madrid have been linked with a number of signings this summer to provide reinforcements in the league and Champions League as they have been some way off the pace in both competitions. Simon Andersson has lead the line admirably and any potential signings will no doubt be brought in to support the Swedish front man who will have his sights set on the World Cup Golden Boot and adding to his new Sweden record in the summer. After scoring 44 times this season for Real Madrid in his 57 games but impressively he has also bagged 9 man of the match awards and bagged 11 assists in what is a great individual season for him if not a great season for his club.  Juventus Waka - After producing a narrow victory over Spanish Giants Real Madrid in the Champions League First Knockout it was unfortunate for Juventus that they were then drawn against the other Spanish Giants, Barcelona, in the Quarter Final - they were unable this time to take the win despite pushing Barcelona very close in the end. The narrow loss in the Champions League shows that Juventus are very close to putting together a team capable of challenging for European honours but for now they will have to settle for dominating Serie A for the third season in a row, a few signings in the summer to compliment Waka and they could be very dangerous indeed. After a few injuries through the season Waka was able to play in 39 games for the Old Lady creating 14 assists and scoring 8 goals to earn himself 10 man of the match awards but he would clearly be happier playing in a more advanced position next season where he is required to do much less defensive work and can concentrate on putting defences to the sword.------------------- | |
