 June 2019     Tottenham were unable to make it three titles in a row this year in what was something of a disappointing season for them, After finishing off the pace in the league Tottenham hung all their hopes on finally taking home the Champions League but it was not to be as they were beaten in an absolute epic of a final by their IA Academy rivals at Barcelona. Luis Morales - It may have been a poor season at the Tottenham for Morales but he was able to become the most capped player for his country this season and that will ensure that he goes down in Panamanian Legend for years to come. Despite the upheaval at White Hart Lane Luis was able to play in a massive 47 games for the club this year scoring a marvellous 22 goals from central midfield but his assists are lower than usual with just 6 and he will be disappointed that he was not able to take home more than 7 man of the match awards. Almighty God - Although Tottenham failed in their bid to bring home the Champions League, Almighty God must be pleased with his contribution in their run to the final, After scoring 10 goals en route to the final he picked up the award for Top Goalscorer in a season where he managed to find the net 34 times in all competitions for Tottenham after making 52 starts for the first time. The 16 times man of the match winner seems to have quickly won over the faith of his new manager to lock down the starting striker spot. Simon Andersson - After making just 6 starts for Tottenham this season Simon has decided enough is enough and so he has handed in a transfer request with reports linking him with Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid side. In total Andersson has played 20 games this season but 14 of those appearances were as a substitute, he has always impressed scoring 10 goals in those games but he clearly is not in Bielsa's plans or he would not be making appearances for the reserves.  Oscar Hult - It has been a wonderful season for the ex Swansea City player as he has really stamped his authority onto the game at United, so much so that he has been handed a new contract by the club in a bid to ward off interest from other teams. After scoring 14 goals and creating 19 more by way of assists it was no shock that Hult was handed the Players' Young Player of the Year award after all he has earned himself 16 man of the match awards in just 42 games this season which is a new club record for Manchester United. The only downside to this season will have been that they were not able to beat Paris Saint-Germain in a very winnable Champions League tie against the French Giants.  Ash Harbin - The move to Sunderland may have come from left field but Harbin has done his best to perform for the club since he signed. In his first season back in English football the shot stopper has kept 13 clean sheets for Sunderland in 58 games but he will want to improve on the 83 goals he conceded in the coming season. It was not a trophy less season for Ash however, who has become accustomed to winning things during his time with Celtic, As Sunderland managed to bring home the FA Cup trophy after a fierce match with Chelsea that will have lessened the blow of their Champions League exit at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.  Ravi Parmar - He really is Parmar-vellous it would seem as Ravi has made 47 appearances this season across two teams scoring 23 goals while providing 18 assists for his team mates at Liverpool and previously Sunderland. In fact he made such an impact at his previous club that he was named the Champions League Best Player after setting the highest average rating for the competition before he leaving for Liverpool in January. In his first 6 months in Liverpool, Parmar has already tasted European Glory after his new club took home the Europa league with a victory over Schalke  before he was named Footballer of the Year in a season where he set a new league record for man of the match awards as he ended the season with 27 of them in all competitions. Andres Martinez - Andres has got off to a fantastic start to his career with Manchester City as he was able to find the net a record breaking 33 times in his debut season. Despite his incredible amount of goals City were not able to beat Marseille in the Europa League Quarter Final but Martinez will be pleased that he was able to stay injury free and make 54 starts in which he provided 11 assists and earnt himself 5 man of the match to go along with the adoration of the City faithful.    After reclaiming the league last season, Barcelona set their sights on defending the league and winning the Champions League. Somehow they were able to achieve both of these feats, as they beat Tottenham by one goal in a match that will live in the memory of many people for a long time after it provided 7 goals. Arwel Thomas - After a fantastic season for his club, El Plebbo was once again handed a new contract by the club who wish to keep him for as long as possible. It is not hard to see why they want to keep him around after a season in which he was limited to 36 starts through injury, Arwel was on hand to score 6 goals, make 98 tackles and provide 5 assists for the newly crowned Champions of Europe. Busi - Since Waka left the club Busi has gone from strength to strength, As if scoring 2 goals in the Champions League final was not enough already Busi made 53 appearances this season to score a frankly ridiculous 24 goals while creating 14 more in the form of assists. His exceptional season was recognised by his fellow professionals and the media as Busi was named as the Spanish Player of the Year. Matt Burn - Burn has proved this season beyond doubt that he is easily the best left back in the world and Manchester United will be embarrassed at their short sightedness in letting him leave after just 1 season at the club. Not only has Burn broken a record once held by Lionel Messi but he has gone on to make 328 tackles, to provide 12 assists, to complete 83% of his passes, to score 1 goal and to be named as man of the match 17 times in 47 games this season. Nathan Holmes - The move to Barcelona is never an easy one but Nathan seems to have taken it in his stride, making 26 starts for the club since joining he has been a constant threat to the opposition and has managed to scored 11 goals and provide 7 assists in his new clubs amazing season, His contribution has always been of a high rate which is shown clearly by the 18 man of the match awards he has earned himself in such a small amount of games. Per Lindholm - Lindholm is exactly the kind of player Barcelona needed add to their ranks, they possess a lot of players who are good on the ball but in Lindholm they now have a player who can stick his foot in, this is shown by the 220 tackles Per has made in his 32 starts for the first team while also being able to contribute to attacks with 3 goals and 4 assists, his move to Barca in January certainly seems to have been worth it after he has earned a La Liga title and a Champions League winners medal already.  Phelix Brown - After finally being given a run in the first team Phelix has impressed for Real this season, making a career high 39 starts this season he repaid his manager's faith in him with 15 goals and 11 assists from his position out on the left wing. He performed so well this year that he was able to break a record for his club, he will hope that he is given the same chances to perform next season in a bid to ensure his team do better in Europe next time around.    Paris Saint-Germain were not able to hang onto their league title this season but they will be hoping that it was just a minor blip and that come next season the title will once again belong to them. More concerning to them however will be that once again they were not able to really make an impact in Europe as they were beaten by eventual winners Barcelona in the Semi Finals. Kirk Mackintosh - .The disappointment of being knocked out in the Champions League Semi Finals may signal the end to his time at PSG as Mackintosh clearly wants to play for a team that can challenge for the biggest trophies in the game. Individually it was a great season once again for Kirk as he broke his own record for most man of the match awards before earning himself 23 of them by the end of the season. He was able to make 45 starts for the club this year which some people doubted he would be able to after suffering a serious injury last season but he was always in good form scoring 31 goals a creating 8 more of them for his team mates. Sergei Dravinski - After making the switch to Paris in January, Sergei will be slightly unhappy that he has ended the season trophy less but with PSG there is always the opportunity to win things and next year they will surely reclaim the league title. Dravinski has been outstanding since joining up with his team mates, he has managed to make 32 starts and score 6 goals for his new club but his most impressive stats are that he made 176 tackles for the team while once again attaining the highest pass completion in the Acdemy with 87% of them finding the intended target - This care with the ball means that he was also able to finish the season with 14 assists.    Waka - Juve were beaten to the title by a superb Roma side this season but they will be favourites to win it back next year after the season Waka has just put in for them. The Stroppy Somalian has really shown what he is capable of this year with a new record set for average rating to go along with the 17 goals and 15 assists he has aided his team with in the 47 starts the 11 times man of the match winner has made since his switch from Barcelona in the summer. Speaking of Barcelona, One thing that did infuriate the Somalian this season is the way that Juventus exited the Champions League at the hands of his ex team mates at Barca. -------------------  | |
