Welcome to the first judging of the new forum folks! This theme was to retype a starter to Ice or Dark. (Or Ice/Dark).

[A] - One of the hardest things for me about spriting ice is getting everything to fit. I mean, you can take a bit from Regice, or a bit from Beartic, but getting it all to fit on the sprite and look consistent is hard. (Actually I think Beartic's ice beard looks silly regardless, but that's besides the point.) I'm going to guess that you did fuse on some ice from other Pokemon, but the only reason I know that is the outline on the head ice and the outline on the rump ice have two different shades of blue. It's not that noticeable until you zoom in. But there's enough editing that I would have guessed the entirety of ice was scratched. Also, one last thing, I don't know if you planned it or just got lucky, but the fact that the ice is roughly the same size as the fire on a normal Quilava really helps.

[B-] - I feel like I've judged this sprite before... Anyway, Dark types can be tricky. Just recolor to a shade of dark gray and you've arguably got a dark type, but obviously that's not going to fly in a spriting contest. Not to mention, there's nothing really obvious to add to make it more "dark." You can't just add more fire, or more lightning, or more leaves... That being said, I think you did a great job adding some extra bits to make it more than a recolor, but still not going overboard with the accessories. Unfortunately, you have some weird outline problems going on with the tail. The color goes outside of the outline near the base, there's outline missing on the prongs... Also the light source on the right-most prong is coming from the opposite direction, and the middle prong is too straight... So the tail's a mess, the rest is good.

[C] - Your biggest issue is that this is mostly a recolor. I guess you could argue Grovyle/Sneasel fusion but then I would argue it's a pretty one-sided fusion. For a retype, it's much more effective to find a way to do more than just recoloring (and sticking on Sneasel's head-feather and head-jewel) and to use parts from a variety of Pokemon, so it doesn't look like a fusion. Also, the colored outline on the claws and the blue shade are too light.

[A] - I love how, at first, this sprite looks fairly simple, but there's a lot of little things you changed. The thin, not-curly tail, the slanted eyes, the little spikes at the top of the wings. These little changes are the difference between a quick copy-paste-recolor job and a retype. If I had to make a suggestion, it would to be to put some outline on the top of the eye, but the lack of it was more annoying zoomed in, and barely noticeable zoomed out.

[B] - The biggest dock in your grade was that, if you didn't tell me that there were other influences here, I would be completely confused as to how the red bits fit in. The ice parts that are obviously ice look good. I love the little icicles forming on the wings, though from an anatomy standpoint I'd be worried. The wings look so fragile I'm afraid they're going to snap off . Not much to say from a technical standpoint, though I think the chunk of ice under the chin isn't really necessary, it's almost distracting. Still a good sprite, I'd just think it would be a better fit for the next round I have in mind.

New Theme: Halloween's just around the corner! For this next round, dress up a Pokemon in a costume. It can be a traditional costume, like a witch or ghost, or a costume of a character from another tv/movie/game/etc series, or whatever you can think of. Just make sure you can still tell what the original Pokemon was. And before some wise-guy asks, I will allow Pokemon dressing up as other Pokemon, but remember that you're running the risk of making it look too much like a fusion or repose.

Wow, its been so long since I've been in first place. I actually felt I could have done a lot better on that Tepig in retrospect.

You used the transition color for the shading. Sneasel's shade color is R48, G96, B112. You used the one between that and the base color.

Wombat If you'd like to enter it, then go ahead. Ironman Scizor fits the theme.
