The Characters seem too involved.

and the storyline seems so forced.

You literally turn around and your mom is shoving a pokedex down your throat.
and you take one step out of the first town and Alder shows up. oh what a mystery.

They're not even trying to be subtle about how "great you're going to become."

It's really killing the motivation having these characters pop out of nowhere to hold my hand to the next stage in the game.

I wish you could tell the game from the beginning if you were dumb or not but it has shoved at least 5 tutorials down my throat.

I know how to open my inventory, I know how to pokemon center and i know hhow to catch pokemon.

It seems they took out the "Silent and Strong Protagonist" themed trainers and replaced them with "kids on a leesh"

Majority of those who are buying/bought B/W 2 already played through the first game and know the controls and storyline. The company putting tutorials is just routine and will get shit on if they don't put it.

Told the story from the beginning? Then that would be a waste if they told the whole story from the beginning because a majority of people know it already. Which is why it's a new story while leaving in things for those who played the previous games to make a connection to. ( the *bleep* is up with Bianca and those glasses? Cheren, no you can't be a gym leader without your glasses. You're blind man, blind!)

Then there are the few who just for the first time ever in their entire life picks up this game because they saw it at a store. It would be a bit confusing for them to not get a tutorial on how to play and what to do and where things are.

I might have missed the tutorial on how to Pokemon center though. How do you Pokemon center?

They have to put the tutorials on there or else they'll get complaints for being not user-friendly to new gamers, but I do wonder why they don't have an option to skip those.

I'm gonna agree with this guy. he knows what he's talking about.

The tutorials really aren't that bad, and it's not always the case that they've played a previous Pokemon game before, so there's always a change that they might need some help with things. However, I do see where you're coming from. It could be a bit annoying.

As for the story line... I actually kind of like it. It is a bit sudden, however, everything happening at the beginning, but it also keeps it interesting.

It'd be better for tutorials to be optional, but I actually agree with your post a lot, demoncatjuston. I don't really know how they'd fix it, but it does seem like everything is shoved in your face in the beginning, and you're a Pokemon Master before you even step out of the door. Nothing really seems to have much flow. But then again, I haven't gotten too far in the story. Only at the 3rd gym.

I like having my friends appear at random intervals to talk to me and give me some tips. The strong silent protag has been done to death, a little variety never hurt anyone. Although I agree with skipping tutorials.

Fine. Your opinion is blatantly wrong because the amount of handholding was extremely profound in almost every game past Gen 1 (and maybe Gen 2.)

there wasn't intensive handholding in gen 2 at all, I remember being six and not being able to figure out how I was supposed to cross water (no idea that surf was an HM). Gen 3 changed a lot of things but still had nothing compared to all of the help new players get now. I didn't like 4 a whole lot so I don't really remember but this definitely trumps any pokemon game i've ever held before.

I don't really mind it though. I mean, I feel like most people can figure out this stuff on their own if five year old me was able to but I guess extra guidance isn't terrible in case new players are feeling lost
