multiplayer I am 100% Done

Countless times now my disguise hasn't worked. I've been careful where I set it off, I have made sure I pressed the trigger hard, the cooldown period has visibly set off again but I don't get a disguise.

I haven't been on the multiplayer since the end of January-ish. Probably even longer than that! I just lost interest and there really wasn't enough to keep me playing, even with the clans feature and the costume offers every week. Although yesterday I was tempted to boot it up again but decided against it when my NeoRaffle prize came through the post - so I played that instead. =P

They really need to mix it up and focus on playability rather than finesse. They've pretty much already got that already, they need need to focus on making it... more playable either with bug fixes in AC3 or on release at AC4.

I disagree. Ubisoft does know what it's doing, they just don't listen.

Fans have offered alternatives in the past about changes that should be made to the online scene to make things more competitive and fair. While I agree for the most part for a lot of people competitive doesn't always make something fun. But changes such as the delay time in using smoke bomb or removing smoke bomb all together were things actually considered by Ubisoft. In fact, a few months ago the community management team even held a poll to discuss changes that should be made to the multiplayer, one of which was a discussion on how they should change the deployment of SB.

From viewing various discussions the problems of Multiplayer in Assassin's Creed ultimately boil down to two prime components - Smoke Bomb being over-powered, and abilities either not working or deploying too late. Personally, I've only ever had a problem with Smoke Bomb. I believe that it should be removed from the game or it's actual purpose altered, such as merely fogging the view of your character from your pursuer and not stopping the use of abilities, movement and kill execution all together. No other abilities really completely stop you from doing everything - which is what makes it over-powered.

Remove smoke bomb and you increase the Assassin-style play people were used to in Brotherhood and it places more emphasis on being stealthy since people will be forced to actually hide from their pursuers rather than run around the map knowing their safe as long as they have their finger over the smoke bomb trigger. Easy points and an easy win.

At the end of the day though, AC has been the only multiplayer experience I've actually enjoyed. Other games have failed to grab my attention in the past since I'm more of a solo-gamer than a social one. I know that even if no changes are made to the Multiplayer in AC4 I'm still going to play it and I'm still going to complain about it; just like those Youtubers who swore they'd never touch ACIII MP because of how bad revelations was, and here we are 5 months later with them posting 2 - 3 MP videos on Youtube every week.

It's not something that people are going to stop playing, and if they are it's not going to be a massive amount of people. It's just the more high profile players making a scene, really. What they say isn't any less true because of that though, but I believe that nothing is going to change by them moaning about it and not standing by their "boycotts" for the sake of "public demand"..

I've played alot of Wanted and I had fantastic results without the smoke bomb. I prefer using Animus Shield or Disguise for defense and firecrackers for offense. Smoke bomb is useful until a certain level. Once you get better you'll realize that it's not that good and you can rack up way more points with other abillities instead.
