discussion Is AC too easy?

I really enjoyed the previous assassins creed games, but they all have one flaw imo: they are just too easy. The combat is really easy and doesn't provide much challenge, but also the free running is just too easy. The more challenging a game the more rewarding it is when you pull it off. How do you guys feel about this? Should they provide different difficulty settings?

I rather have it easy then frustrating or too trouble-ish, I'm more of a gamer that plays games to enjoy it, not to get annoyed that I barely get through it.

There's a reason why I don't play AC1, or rarely play it, because the combat gets really irritating at the end, especially the final battle is annoying when they overuse the uppercut manouvre mostly all the time, and you can't hardly counter that move, and it takes a whole lot out of your health.
Another thing is the counter needs to be exact precise to make it counter.

It's just annoying.

Maybe it's challenging for some, but for me it's just too much trouble for me to enjoy it.

The rest that followed after that were alright.

Not sure how AC3 plays yet, But aslong as it plays smoothly, and not frustrating and annoying, and I can enjoy it, then I'm okay with it.

I play Assassins Creed to run around and climb shit. I don't care for difficulty when the combat isn't even a factor of why I enjoy the game, and I like that freerunning takes no effort.

Yes it is too easy but that's what a lot of people like about AC, the fluidity and the feeling of being a badass. I would like some more challenge though and I wish more than 1 eneny attacked you at once.

I thought good story, parkour and assassination are what people liked about the game, not how easy it was...

I've said it before, and since the very first time I watched the ac1 trailer, my instant thoughts of the game was a running assassin who kills people and bounces and that's what I liked about it so much. The biggest challenge would be to run from enemies. That's what would be so different. ac1 did a good job of it, even though it was annoying at times, but the later games are just too easy. The fact that you can even make allies kills it a bit, even though I love it and that shouldn't go away by any means.

Conclusion: make it more a stealth game, while keeping everything else as it is. If you get surrounded, make the gameplay difficult so that it makes you not get caught again in the first place. Kinda like Tenchu. (not to compare the greatness of this game with that) I realize it might not be so easy to do this though as it would make storymode so different and even dull perhaps... Ugh makes you realize why the creators have chosen the direction they have.

Thats not true at this point with playing the game i have to say that this game has its hard points especially when ur on a sneaking mission and trying to get to a point undetected or kill a target undetected cuz it seems like a npc redcoat can be a insane length away and it still shows up with they can see me and its just annoying anybody else having this problem it seems like even if it seems theres something inbetween the line of site they still detect me and make me restart the mission over again

Some of the enemies seem unbeatable as well, the counters didn't even stop the attacks and breaking defence did nothing either.
