	Log in to remove this sponsored message Regardless of whether or not we were busy with other things (lol), we still lost in the sense of the word, in that, we didn't win. If you want to get into semantics, you could call it a conceded defeat I guess haha. But I'm honestly not really all that bothered with how the British are being shown in this game. While their marketing strategy obviously didn't tackle the "No, this is honestly a fight of both sides" issue very well, I think people were just over thinking it. In the Gameplay demo at E3 it was shown that the guy Connor assassinates is a Templar by him revealing the Templar Cross on his chest, as well as him saying "Leave the patriots to their war. I'm after the templar" to the American that tells him how to get into the camp. But I guess people are going to find fault in everything. You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the entire world, but they'll always be someone who doesn't like peaches. ------------------- "Run you clever boy, and remember"

	They did show that when he was moving across the crowd of people, he didn't bother harming anyone but the one target that he was seeking. Throughout the games the assassin always takes care of guards and such; but on that demo he only went for the one Templar. I think they might be also focusing on the side that won with the trailers..think about it. 	TBH, I am getting fairly sick of the British people are bad guys trope in at the very least Hollywood. We do seem to be the default evil dude even if the character is German. And yeah the pandering in the advertising annoys me, seeing yet another Redcoat drop before Connor emerges before an American flag flying high does grate me a bit. But ultimately he's a Native American, so it's hardly gonna be pro-American and I do trust Ubisoft. That and Redcoats make more of an obvious enemy than generally uniform-less American rebels. Oh and not to completely go into a historical debate, but: quote Hayes1987 And you know, I've seen a couple of people mention that the U.S. "won". That's not true, the British had so many other, larger and more important campaigns at the time you know. We simply managed to be enough of a thorn in their side that they allowed us to be. If they found it a priority to wipe us all out or forcibly bring us back..........they simply would have. They were THE colonial power and a relatively small group of defectors or traitors weren't going to match their army in force. The idea is ridiculous. We could never have won, we kept winning battles in the Carolinas and Georgia but as soon as the army left the rebels would simply come back and set up camp again. It would have taken well above our numbers to hold even the Southern states, let alone the more rebellious north. Only complete destruction of American forces in the Battle of Brooklyn would have given us a chance. Anyway yeah, basically hope Ubisoft don't go down the obvious route of having people like Benedict Arnold as Templars. Having Gates be one and deliberately downplaying Arnold's achievements would be a way more interesting plot. Ultimately can't really blame them if they do though, that and I'm way more interested in the gameplay in these games than which famous person in history was a Templar or Assassin. 	Kind of feel now some of the hate for AC3's setting is just 'because'. With the game not released yet, people are too eager to jump down Ubisoft's throats, as if they haven't played the last 4 games. It's a bit laughable to see all these long-time series fans throw in the towel due to assumptions, and nothing more. -------------------

	I think it's pathetic people are opting out of the franchise because the nationality they are, are being shown as the bad guys. I'm pretty sure in a lot of American or German movies, the English are the staple villain. I've seen it happen plenty of times, English films do exactly the same to the Americans and Germans. The way I see it is simply this; the game is Assassin's Creed. I don't care who I'm killing as long as it's made fun and enjoyable. Sure there is a part of me that doesn't particularly LIKE my country of origin being shown as the "bad guys" but at the same time, that pales in comparison to everything awesome about the game. People need to remember this is a game, a game made by a team varying in culture, nationality and religion (as has been stated in every assassin's creed title to date) so this isn't Ubisoft going "lol lets made the British evil" it's them showing the game in a realistic light. If the British are shown as bad guys, so be it. But remember that there will also be a fair bit of killing on the American side of things too. ------------------- "Run you clever boy, and remember"

I'd wager that the majority of those complaining about British as the bad guys are british, and probably the same people complaining that the game 'Americanised'. Though it's easy to remember the saying; Individuals are smart, People are Stupid. I feel that resonates here. I'm not sure however what the reaction was to AC2 being set in Italy. I bet in hindsight, people will easily say however that they themselves thought it was a welcome change on the contrary to what really happened back during it's announcement. -------------------

	Not that I agree with the people complaining about English being the bad guys, but in AC II-Brotherhood it was different since you were an Italian killing other Italians, but as for Revelations, I never heard any Turkish complain about them being the bad guys...but then again, there were many Turkish good guys in it too. I think that ACIII will have both sides bad and good guys, but probably more British bad guys than good ones... Anyways, I'm from Spain and had no trouble having spaniards as bad guys either,,,it is stupid to feel upset about a video game in that way...I mean, ask middle east people how they feel about Call of Duty and such lol

	All this complaining is nonsense. As far a I'm aware the only actual 'good' NPC is George Washington who is a Freemason and associate of Conner and the Assassins. Aside from that I think literally everyone else we have seen is fair game, hell I half suspect Conner to identify Native Americans that support one side or the other too, and subsequently assassinate them too. I don't understand the hate for the 'American pandering' one it was close to one of our important holidays and thus they were appealing to our egos. And I haven't met a person alive that doesn't like having there ego stroked. Also Conner technically has more in common with the British than he does as an American. Both sides of his lineage were definitely sided away from the Americans. AC = You play an American, diving into his Syrian ancestor's life killing Saracens, Byzantines, English, French, Knights Hospitaller and Templar, (and technically Holy Roman Empire) AC2 = You play an American who beats down and/or kills other Americans who then dives into his Italian ancestor's life killing Italians and Swiss. ACB = You play an American, diving into his Italian ancestor's life killing more Italians and Swiss and now French. ACR = You play an American, diving into his Italian ancestor's life killing Ottomans. Said Italian ancestor then plays as Syrian Ancestor and kills Syrians. AC3 = You play an American, diving into his Native-American/British ancestor's life, killing Americans and British, (possibly other Native Americans, Austrians, French and Spanish) All these races being killed and being played as and now they decide to have butthurt. The patriotic symbolism was already admitted to be there to garner sales in the US alongside 4th of July. Its been stated. and it shouldn't bother anybody cause as we all know the Templars are the real threat, no matter the race or nationality. Hell we even have ALIENS in this series. 	I see their point.
