Little screens and whatever of that small size could be interesting, but I'm more interested in the design of the buttons and how it holds in the first place. Sticks on the PS3 controller are just so ridiculously tall, would love to see those shorter on the PS4.

Considering the current placement of that weird blue bar, I assume it's some kind of indicator for whether or not the controller's plugged in, or active, that kind of thing. The function we currently have four little red lights for. Either that or something related to the motion patent we saw a while back, since I don't think Sony's put out anything...glowy, besides Move batons. Wonder what it'll end up being, if it's anything at all.

The ps controller's analog sticks have always been pure microwaved ass in my eyes - so many have done it better.

The controller is so damn iconic these days any major change will immediately alienate a ton of get-off-my-lawn users. Slave to its own reputation, it is. Its a gamble for sony one way or the other now.

I like the prototype myself. A somewhat bigger, somewhat bulkier PS controller could be nice.

WHAT THE *bleep* IS THAT?! Didn't Sony say that it's pretty much the same as the DS3 just updated and with slight differences, just like with DS2 to DS3. That thing looks fake.

I think the second image is an updated version of the controller. The most noticeable difference is the sharp angle right above the "Share" button that's on the first controller, but not the second.

Hmm. I'll definitely say I was hoping it would look more like a DualShock, but I don't mind the new design.

This second picture looks like a final version of the controller to me.

Am I crazy, or does the left handle of the controller (in both pictures) look bigger than the right? What kind of sense does that make?

Not only that, but I can't see any practical use for such a small screen. In other words, I don't really see how it's a necessary or useful addition.

Anyway, I'm more curious than concerned at the moment, especially since I think both photos are just of preliminary models.

If the controller's a bag of dicks I'm sure they'll recognize it and make changes accordingly.

No that is a developer console unit. They have a similar console for the Vita and the PSP at my work.
