	Log in to remove this advertisement In this day and age, what with overpopulation and lack of space for new housing, is the idea of three generations living together gaining in popularity again? Maybe even aunts and uncles living under the same roof as their nieces and nephews? Other benefits include saving on food because of buying in bulk and there is perhaps a social benefit for the children since a babysitter won't be required even if both parents work. Since I grew up in a nuclear family, I have no idea of the disadvantages of an extended family. Single parent families, generally, are more disadvantageous though. ------------------- Eats, shoots and leaves

	Living with grandma would be awful. She tidies your stuff up to try and be helpful and then doesn't tell you where it is. She also overfeeds everyone and when my friend with coeliac is round she says it's a made up disease. He's too polite to refuse her food then goes home and is ill. 	I dont even have two generations living in my house and im thankful for it. No way would i live with my Gran to save on food costs LOL. I'd double the cost to keep her out.

	My cousins have three generations under their roof (them, my aunt/uncle, and my grandma/great-aunt). The latter are actually really helpful around the house and such. I guess I never really thought about it much. ------------------- ~You promised to return to me. And I believed.~

	Nah, I like my space and privacy. I'm actually quite antisocial in my own house unless we have dinner at the table, at which point, we often have family over anyway. Our family is huge so it would take one hell of a house to fit us all in. Apparently in Europe, people used to buy a strip of land and build three houses on it. Then there were two houses for the other generations to live in on the same land. That's why you sometimes get houses behind each other and those weird long driveways. It's not so popular nowadays considering most people want to move out and do their own thing and don't want to me tied down to one area so I think the houses are all just sold as individual buildings now. 	I'm just going to do what's best for overpopulation and refrain from having kids. Tubal ligation here I come. Not that I'd mind living with my grandparents in the house too. Say if I have three kids and those children have three kids and their children have three kids and then those children have three kids then that's a hell of a lot of extra people down the track that could have been stopped if one person didn't have kids. Do you know how much resources one person uses in their life? Those kids will have to eat and they'll produce waste. Whether they live with me or not, room has to be made to grow the crops that feed them, fuel has to be found to warm the house we live in, their faeces has to go somewhere etc. One person not having kids can make a big difference down the road. Of course, the environment is not the actual reason I am childfree, just something that comes hand in hand. ------------------- Love is brightest in the dark.

	I always just though it was okay for each couple to have two children and they must definitely stop there. That way, the population would be maintained rather than increase. I hate hearing about families with loads of children for some reason. I just feel like it's unnecessary to have ten kids. ------------------- Help revive The Sims 3 forum here!

	Not really; what if by result of having a child, somewhere down the line that child finds a cure for cancer / the common cold? or comes up with a solution to solve poverty? You're making convenient excuses for the sake of your own desires. It's fine to not want children but don't try to justify your decision with glass half empty reasons. "one person can make a big difference" can go both ways negative and positive. -------------------

'tis a hard life for a child hater in a child-centric world. ): People need to learn that there's too many people on this planet right now for reproduction to be a right. Edit: Yes but Tekmosis, there's just a big of a chance that your child will be the next Hitler.
