That is to say i have heard of plantes feeling pain, responding to stimuli and recognising people. Its called "Plant Perception" if i remember. I dont think any of this has been proven and peer reviewed but its definately a concept which has been around for a while.

Just imagine the Vegans faces if it were proved true.

There is no way that plants would feel anything on the same level that animals do though. You can't compare plants to intelligent creatures who are suffering every day. Plants don't have brains that can feel love, loss, friendship, fear, etc.

Plus, plants that are grown for consumption are actually treated better than the animals that are used for your food and dairy products.

Also, thanks for capitalizing vegan; I feel special now!

Oh, those are pescetarians, which I find to be a bit silly honestly.

If a person tells you that they are a vegetarian who still eats fish, then they honestly don't know what a vegetarian is. I know a couple of people like that, and when I questioned them they replied with, "Well, you can't get protein without eating fish." Facepalm.

Actually, the vegetarians I'm speaking of are all people that I know. They're doing it because they don't believe in the mistreatment of animals, yet they still eat fish. From that standpoint it's pretty hypocritical. I'm not just spouting off about random people here Guugs; give me some credit! :0P

Oh, and my previous comment still stands. If someone tells you they are a vegetarian who eats fish, they aren't a vegetarian regardless of why they've chosen that lifestyle. A vegetarian doesn't eat meat so, again, they would be a pescetarian.

So how many types of vegetarian are there? Off the top of my head:

Moral - Doesn't like animals being mistreated.

Health - Doesn't eat meat for heath reasons, such as chemical additives in meat, mercury in fish, or just something about the meat itself, I think?

Lifestyle - I'm not sure that I understand this one properly. Could someone explainplz?

I'd say lifestyle is more for vegans than vegetarians; it applies to not using any animal products at all, not just halting consumption of meat or dairy. I even buy special toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and cleaning products that are cruelty free. Although, I guess lifestyle could apply to vegetarians as well, since they do have to change their life a tiny bit to accommodate their diet.
