And going with what I said before, it's pretty easy to tell the difference between bullying, your mysterious decision to berate my opening post as "piss poor," and aiming to discuss things intellectually, P_L's request for a specific scenario.

Fair enough, but then I can only speak generally, and generally I have to disagree. There's nothing wrong with telling the PC police where to stick it if they're just doing it for the sake of it as you say, but that doesn't open the floodgates to sweeping generalisations like 'To Hell with political correctness'. If your intention isn't to offend with your argument, you should make that perfectly clear. Ignoring political correctness altogether is--well, sheer ignorance, and doesn't make you any better than them.

A bunch Christans got upset and walked out, a bunch more Christians heard about it and the dude was forced to into an apology when he was making a legitimate and fair point, unless I missed something and Christians actually want to bring back slavery they are being hypocrites and should be called out on their gay bashing.

I struggle with political correctness you see because as a young, white, lower middle class, healthy and agnostic native of my country i am apparently all but f***ing inoffendable.

PISH ! I am wholly offended by outwardly public religious gestures especially flying flat in the face of my obvious disbelief. Why is it that i have to walk the planet on a surface of thin ice and egg shells constantly tightening the spiked leash around my tongue for fear of offending every spiritual denomination possible when the rest of my faith spweing peers can prance around the planet saying whatever the f**k they like spitting in my face and its MY FAULT if i am offended? Their privelaged right to offend and moreso condemn me based on nothing is a f***ing infinitely protected virtue yet every other concievable destinction in human thought and intellect is scrutinised and critiqued to the point of absurdity with little backlash because we are apparently socially and morally free. F**K OFF !!! I live in a world where you have to think twice before using the words "Homo" or "gay" but its perfectly OK to tell a child it will be mollested and tortured for eternity if it turns out to be so.

F**K Political correctness in its current faith, media and business friendly guise. Not because it isnt useful, because it is so objective, so subject to changing with the global zeitgeist and so *bleep*ing fickle that i wont waste my time with it. I will just speak how i wish, try not to offend due to my own internal morality regarding which societies biased notions of correctness can f**k off and i'll appologise sincerely if i do inadvertantly and genuinly offend anyone undeservedly.

Talking from personal experience, it can be a complete f***ing minefield talking to fathists and trying not to offend them. I do think some atheists go out of their way to be overly offensive but on the other hand you can barely make any cirticism of religion without being branded a pigheaded arrogant heathen these days.

Most faithists see any challenge to their ideology as nothing more than an insult. So in some ways i have lost my capacity to be sensitive. I wont go out of my way to insult faithists, but i wont go out of my way to nanny them through a conversation being sure to pat them on the head at every theological disagreement. Faithists have to realise that their belief is as open to critisism ( or should be if they have any conviction) as any other subject is. I understand that it is difficult to argue from a position of faith, but that doesnt mean people should spit the dummy out at the smallest disagreement. And also, lets remember that some faith based beliefs are inherintly wildly offensive to pretty much every atheist. (And members of other faiths). We are slagged off, berated, CONDEMNED and discredited across massive swaithes of the human population for OUR beliefs. And if we question it then WE are somehow being intollerant. No chance. Tell me im going to hell to burn forever then ask me to be sensitive when criticising Jesus or Muhammed ? In the deepest possible respect, f**k right off please.

If any faith based debate is to have credability across the board then atheists have to be blunt and scientific but emotionally neutral. Faithists have to drop their obsession with belief as an unquestionable virtue and relax their reactionary defensive barriers.

People should do what's right at the time, not what the law states. It's like with this article that may or may not have been posted here or somewhere else (I can't remember exactly) about a 16-year-old girl who was raped and due to complications and her religion in court they actually made her marry her rapist.

To hell with it all, I say!
