Photo Hunt - Week One - Sideways World

Welcome to The Lobby photo hunt! The contest will run over the course of 5 weeks with a different theme each week. A new week will begin on Monday and end on Sunday. The minimum number of photos is four per category, which you will need to upload by Thursday of the following week (allows some overlapping). That means week one starts today, July 9, and you will need to upload photos by July 19. You may use any website to host your photos, and please provide a link in the current week's thread. A random drawing will be held for the winner of a fabulous Neoseeker t-shirt! To be included in the drawing, you must participate in all five categories. The drawing will be held Monday August 20.
*For clarification: you should submit your own photos for this contest, not photos that you found on the internet.

Week One: Sideways World. Find objects that are naturally in the shape of a letter, number, or perhaps you'll find a fallen branch that looks like a monkey.

Week Two: About Town. Take photos of things that are native to your city/town/state. Some examples are local wildlife, favorite restaurants, and historical landmarks.

Week Three: My Favorite Things. Take photos of the things you love. This can be hobbies, food, cars, etc.

Week Four: Nature Walk. Only natural subjects are allowed- no manmade structures or technology (though if, for example, you find a bird nest with baby birds on a building, that's allowed). This would be a great time to get outside and walk through a park/nature trail.

Week Five: Anything Goes. If you find a really nice shot that doesn't fit into a category, this is your week to show it off!

The only rules on subject matter are: no graphic photos and no pornographic photos. If a photo is deemed inappropriate, it will be up to the moderators of the Lobby to make a judgement.

LOD: Size and colors for the T-shirts are limited and subject to availability.

Just as a heads up, we have 2 Neoseeker T-Shirts that will be given away in this contest. However there is a problem with shipping charges, if it is too expensive the winner can opt-in to either

Am I supposed to be taking pictures of things that look like letters, numbers or monkeys? If it's going to be this open-ended people might as well just take a picture of anything and say "It looks like whatever" make it specific, it'll last longer and be more interesting!

I thought it would be obvious if people did that. The reason to make it more open-ended is I think people can be more creative and can allow more people to be involved. I think we can all use some common sense here, and get the point of this subject.

No really it's still a mystery to me. Is the subject things that look like letters and numbers or things that look like anything?

I'm in. So what are we doing?

Just my luck, I leave town for a month when this photo event begins. Still, I'm excited to see all the entries pour in!

Adrienne I think you should clarify the first post. This is going out and taking a photo, and not going online and finding a photo, correct?
I'm fairly certain it's the former; does this mean taking a photo from the date this photo hunt started till the end, or do past photos count?
