Already got a copy of Minecraft, but I can confirm it's an incredibly addicting and fun game. I have friends and their wives who got addicted to it!

Must say I had never played Minecraft until a couple of weeks ago when I was at my mates and I loved it, been desperate for a copy since and hopefully I win this one

I'm definitely in it for the building crazy stuff. I built a spiral staircase to the top of the sky (I couldn't go higher, sadly) and had a network of glass skyways going across the map at one point, areas with trees, and lava encased in glass alongside the paths to light the skyways. Physics is for noobs, after all.

Also I liked it enough to get the creeper t-shirt off ThinkGeek. :3

I first got interested in Minecraft after watching some of Seananners' videos, as well as X's. The addition of the Nether with its originally overbearing Ghast screams terrified, yet intrigued me. I started playing the free version, and enjoyed being able to make my own creations in a way that my inability to draw or do physical art didn't ruin. I made a self-sustaining house with a mine, food supply, storage, and tree farm, as well as a monster room to go fight when I was waiting for items to smelt! I made a house inside of a mountain, a glass fortress, and several other unique houses with easter eggs for those visiting like laser tag arenas and mazes! Recently, I've taken up the task of trying to recreate the original Red/Blue sprites of all 151 original Kanto Pokemon, and posting my creations to Facebook.

Really it was all of those things. The thought of what I could do, what I could make, was astounding! One of my friends told me about it and I tried it once and was hooked! The very first thing I made was a giant gold castle. This was on the free Classic version, so it didn't save, but that didn't matter. I took lots of videos! Lol

I love Minecraft!!!!!

Minecraft was brought into my life quite a while back. It all started when my friend, Garner, told us about the cheap knock-off, Total Miner. He told us how much fun it was to build and play with other people, so my best friend, Ryan, tried it and got me hooked. Garner then moved on to Minecraft, which he immediately told us how much better it is, and soon all of my other friends got involved.

I myself tried to join in on their creating fun, but my computer was too slow for it, so I had to resort to just watching Ryan and the others create a wonderful world and help some with designing it. I hope to win this contest so I can join in their fun and craft beautiful creations. I've seen all this game has to offer and hope to get in with it.

I agree with the comment at the top of the page involving Legos. I've always been a fan of building things, and Legos led to hours upon hours of pure entertainment along with unique, innovative ways to expand the mind and imagination. Being able to create worlds and things has always been something I've enjoyed immensely, and it all began with the original Roller Coaster Tycoon. I would spend hours upon hours on that game, not just building the COOLEST COASTER EVER, but actually designing an entire park that I think people would enjoy (let alone the people being virtual ). Later on, I experimented with games such as The Sims and even social apps on Facebook like CivWorld.

For months, my friends have been playing Minecraft on PC and tried like hell to get me to join in, but I was too busy with my last semester of school to be bothered. I watched videos and had constant updates via Facebook from all of them of all the cool things they built in-game and thought it looked like something I really wanted to do too. However, as the months came along, they got busier with different things and now they no longer play, so it's been less of an incentive to download it. After all, I'm a social gamer. If the option is there, I'd choose playing with friends before going solo any day.

Now that the game is available for Xbox, and I have a lot more time on my hands, I'm thinking it's time to finally enjoy the game and build vast new worlds! I see some of my other friends working together on the game nightly and have been itching to jump in with them. This could finally be my chance!

Your argument is invalid.

Well your statement that Microsoft "did that intentionally to make people upgrade their TV's" was invalid first, because if you actually read my entire post you would know that this was likely not explicitly Microsoft's decision, but rather the developer's decision, with the interest of making the game more playable, with all of the text legible for both split-screening players. I've also found out that this game supports 4 player split screen, meaning the developers would have to shrink the GUI even more, or otherwise cover the even less viewing space that 1/4 of a screen would have with GUI. The whole point of my previous post was to explain that I'm not a fan of Microsoft by any means, I'm just telling you that if you want to hate them, you don't have to go out of your way to invent new reasons; there are enough already. If you have some facts to back up your claim, like I have provided with my assumption, then we can have a fair debate. If you want to be mad that Microsoft falsely advertised that multiplayer split-screen could be played on a standard definition TV even though it can't, be my guest, because it was true at one point.
