Neil deGrasse Tyson Appreciation Thread

He's an American astrophysicist and IMO one of the most intellectual individuals currently alive.

Always a pleasure to hear him talk. Michio Kaku is overrated .

Of course, Carl Sagan bests them all. Cosmos was such a great show. Even though its outdated as far as science goes, all the humanitarian stuff Sagan goes on about is still very relevant.

Lawrence is awesome. He teaches at my school, he is an incredible nice person, as expected.

Love Neil as well, he is truly a classic scientist. Very neutral in his philosophy, he seems to only care about education and science. You rarely see people like that anymore. Reminds of historical figures like Alfred Russel Wallace and other aristocrats who just seem outside of reality, if you will. Possesed by the task of uncovering natural phenomena.

I do wish he was more outspoken about certain socioeconomic topics though. We need people like him to back humanist causes.

When I found out that NDT was doing a sequel to Carl Sagan's Cosmos series, I had a mind orgasm. Neil deGrasse Tyson is awesome. The fact that this thread exists makes me happy.
