Spotify is basically Pandora, but you can play any song you want in any order, make playlists, share music, and a shit ton more. It doesn't make iTunes obsolete, but it's a step up from any music program out there. You even can link it with your Facebook account, and publish music there! I've been using it like crazy and recommending it to my friends. The only downside is the ads, but Pandora has the same shit, and I don't think they play as often. They give you 48 hours free of ads and you can get an extra 30 days I think, though. Edit: Mar 15, 12 1:03am

	Being in Ireland, I actually do not have access to either Pandora or Spotify. I, however use last.fm, which based on your short description is better. Last.fm, if you don't know is a website like Pandora, (I think) in that it takes note of what music you listen to on itunes, on your ipod etc, makes up your top listened to lists, and then makes recommendations for similar artists. Along with Google Chrome last.fm player though, it also becomes a site to play pretty much every song you can see. Even ones you haven't listened too already. Yo can go onto new artists pages and listen to whatever song you like, and it automatically makes a playlist of the top songs of the artist. 	Spotify is on my computer but I don't use it. My sister downloaded it and she uses it if she's ever on my computer. I just use Youtube and because I have ad block I never get adverts. I also use Vevo on the Xbox which is pretty cool.

	I pay the £10 a month, that allows me to use it on my phone and you also don't need to put up with the ads. I love it tbh, I can sync playlists of any new album that's available on Spotify or stream any random song when I'm on the go. So I don't need to buy songs or albums and I also don't need to download illegally anymore either. -------------------

Would be paying £10 a month if I could afford it, just so I could have the luxury of accessing it on my phone. Only paying the £5 for it because I can't stand an ad cutting in the middle of an album. Music I have, I play through iTunes, music I want to listen to or try, but down have I listen to in Spotify. Starting to use Spotify as my main media player though because it's lightweight and can create a custom queue there and then. BTW, there is 1 ad in radio.

	It doesn't surprise me that they are going to have clones to Pandora, I am sure there are many others. Some people like ads, because it makes the radio feel more live, rather than recorded. 	It's not a clone of Pandora, and the only ads that are played are advertisements for Spotify for sponsored playlists that have been created like Disney Classics and top hits of the last decade and shit like that. Spotify has a radio on it, but it's not the same concept at all.

	Heard about Spotify, mainly about how with the more expensive plan, you can sync to a ton of devices, including smartphones, etc. However, I'm a cheapass, so I don't use it. I've still got some awesome playlists on there however and this thread encouraged me to boot up again and check out an artist before grabbing her album. Spotify is a great service for providing people with music legally, with a great interface, easy to use and is expanding to have all the sharing/networking features that seems necessary for its users to remain satisfied.

That's stupid. It has a different feel, it makes it feel like I am not the only one. I don't know, maybe it's because I listened to the radio more when I was little versus cassettes or CD. The pitch of music is different on the radio, versus how it is on a CD, MP3 (unless you get the Radio Version). ------------------- Support the Grand Theft Auto V forum.
