Yeah, this. I also take a break when I'm thirsty, but that takes 30 seconds to go to my fridge, take a can of soft drink, and return to my game.

I take breaks regularly as my dog is a hyperactive border collie and cant go an hour and a half without a walk or he starts spazzing out. So its not the 15 minutes for every hour thats suggested, but ido take regular breaks. Unless i want chewed shoes, turd nuggets and puddles of piss everywhere.

But the reasons for these warning are real. There is a medical disorder called DVT (Deep veign thrombosis). It happens when people sit still for extended period sof time and put preassure on imobilised parts of the body. I think it closes off blood vessels leading to potentially fatal blood clots if i remember.

I think it was first noticed in long haul aircraft passengers and people first assumed the preassure differences had alot to do with it. But more and more people from other area's suffered the condition, and recently a poor young English guy died from it whilst on a massive X-box bender. Its kind of an eye opener. I have played 12 hour straight COD sessions myself. Maybe my dogs need to run at 100mph almost indefinately and piss every 12 bloody seconds is actually a blessing.

I never really play for more than 2 hours at a time (including bathroom breaks), so I don't really need to bother with this.

Except when I have guys over, and we'll be playing PS3, watching movies, and eating for like half the day.

Back in the day, I'd be gaming my ass off for a couple of hours a day. Nowadays, I just play for an hour or two a day unless a game was really good.

Breaks include basketball (I'm the best) and... umm... I guess just not sitting down haha

lol reminds me of my German Shepherd when he left a few turd nuggets when I first got and played Tales Of Symphonia - bloody hell it stunk up the joint!

Not always. A lot of people never do it - but for me it's a 25% chance I'm seen doing it.

It's just to be on the safe side, so that nobody can sue. They know very well that nobody is going to take 1/4 of their game time out for breaks every single hour, therefore they know if someone has a complaint then they can get away with dismissing it through pointing to their warning.

I do agree that it's a good idea to take breaks away from the screen if you're playing a game or on a computer for long periods of time. I tend to do this a lot when I'm writing essays because it makes my eyes tired, plus it's just a good excuse to stop what i'm doing and get a cake.

Taking a 15 minute break would be a rarity for me, unless I am getting something to eat. Sometimes, I wonder if people should really take a 30 minute break, because you are in one position for a long time with minimal movement (unless you are using Kinect, Wii, or Motion, but still you should take a break from that).

I never do, but I should really start trying to. When you're so involved in a game you just forget to take breaks. I've been playing a new game pretty solidly for the past few days and I've gotten bad headaches and one of my eyes was bloodshot to hell when I woke up this morning.

So yeah, I'm going to try and take breaks more often.
