Capcom has said Resident Evil 6's AI partners that accompany the player won’t fully waste your resources.
Resident Evil 5 saw an AI companion frustratingly using up a player's resources. However, producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi has confirmed that the issue has been addressed in the shooter's successor.
"I understand the fact that resource management is important and that it affects your gameplay and how you want to play the game, and it is stressful to worry that this person is infringing upon your resource management. So we took a step back in RE 6 and how we were going to change that so that people don’t feel stressed like they did in Resident Evil 5."
Another method of addressing the resource management issue in Resident Evil 6 is that each player will have their own independent loot. For example, upon an enemy dropping, say, ammunition, both the player and the AI partner can pick the same ammo.
Resident Evil 6 is due for a worldwide release on October 2, 2012.
