Originally, publisher 505 Games elected to skip over funding the multiplayer portion of Sniper Elite V2, so developer Rebellion funded it themselves, though only for PC (this is especially interesting because it's usually the publisher forcing the developer into multiplayer). Seems 505 liked what they saw with the PC content, though, and have since decided to push it out on consoles after all -- today, to be exact.
If you head over to Xbox LIVE or PlayStation Network now, you can grab the DLC free of charge. It includes Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Distance King, and Team Distance King modes, and the Mountain Pass, Quarry, Graves, OpernPlatz, Church, and Kreuzberg maps; two to eight player matches are supported.
There's also some paid DLC on offer: coughing up 240 MSP or $5 will net you a US M1 carbine, German MP44, and the Webley Mk6 revolver.
