We've known for some time tactical game XCOM: Enemy Unknown was launching toward the end of this year, but now we have specific dates for you: October 9 for North America, and October 12 everywhere else. And despite 2K investing heavily in the PC version of the game, it will release simultaneously on all platforms.
As is the trend these days, pre-ordering XCOM from currently unspecified retailers will net you the limited time Elite Soldier Pack, which provides a new recruit inspired by the first game in the series, XCOM: UFO Defense, plus tons of visual customization options for soldiers.
As isn't the trend these days, a special edition of the game will be available exclusively on PC at retail for $60 and will include an art book, poster of the in-game HQ, an insignia patch, and digital assets (wallpaper, soundtrack, and other goodies). Grabbing the digital version of the game will net you...well, just the game, sadly. It's unclear if this version will be $50 or not.
