After some delays and a whole lot of community confusion, MechWarrior Online is finally getting its open beta. Piranha Games and publisher Infinite Game announced today that the online mech shooter would be opening up next week, on October 29.
If you're still interested in participating, just head over to the official site to get started.
Up until now, beta has been limited to a select number of community members, namely anyone who received an invite through whatever means and those who paid for a Founder's package. While MechWarrior Online is free-to-play, the game has a number of tiered packages that players can buy for varying fees. Perks depend on how much you're willing to pay, and since the Founder's Program was announced this summer, it's brought in over $5 million in sales.
