	Log in to remove this advertisement quote Your signature is linking to a graphics file that fails to meet the image filesize requirements. Images in signatures may only be 40960 bytes. What exactly does this mean? My banner won't work, its smaller than 575x125. And it's saved as a png. As far as I know jpg wasn't working for me either. 	If you right click the picture you are trying to upload and click properties it will tell you how many bytes it is. Or just hover the mouse over the icon that you use to open the picture and it will tell you how may KB it is which is pretty close to Bytes times 1000. It has to be under 40 KB. -------------------

	It means that your banner is over 40kbs in size, which isn't allowed, because the file size is too big. You can post the image here and I'll lower the file size for you, or someone else can.

	40960 bytes = 40 KB No matter what the dimensions are, it must be under 40 kilobytes.

	I make the graphics with paint most of the time. Does that have anything to do with it, any suggestions there? Bit-depth? Yeah, I just checked, there mostly around 60 some kb ------------------- . Enter the Vault .

	Unfortunately, Paint is a very, very basic program. You can't do much with it but paint, if you have the skills and patience. You would need a little more advance program like Photoshop in order to mess with the file size. I'm pretty sure GIMP can do this as well, I'm not too sure however. ------------------- My mind is living on Cloud 9, and this 9 is never on vacation.

	Yeah, Im decent with paint. I saved some of my .png images as jpg but it distorts it. It makes the file size small enough but makes some pics blurry. Is there anyway to change file size or prevent big file size without saving as .jpg? Edit: Thanks guys, I got it now. I have a photoshop alternative program that I never used. I saved using that and you can set the qaulity percentage when saving as a jpeg. So it lightens the file size. This message was edited by Key Blader on Jun 21 2007. ------------------- . 	Not only that, but Photoshop offers better quality now only with clearness but more color in images when saving an image under JPEG. It's one of the many good things about it, where as other programs usually give you an extremely big file size with less color/quality in them. ------------------- My mind is living on Cloud 9, and this 9 is never on vacation.
