	Log in to remove this sponsored message Just completed SH2HD for the first time. It's ok at best, as far as the conversion to HD goes.. It still is the game I thoroughly enjoyed on my PS2 some 6 years ago, but it seems that somethings gone missing during the conversion to HD. I've noticed on many occations that the game goes slo-mo at times. I'm not talking stuttering, but the game actually seems to go into slow motion every now and then. Post your thoughts about Silent Hill 2. Some tweaks have been made into the boss battles, as I feel that I get hit alot more than I used to, back in the PS2 days. Take the fight against Eddie, for example. On PS2, I rarely got hit by Eddie with his revolver, this time, each time I shoot im (and he's a tough one) he shoots me right after that, giving me no choice but to use my medikits. Exiting the inventory menu... The game goes on right after you exit the menu, only there's a second or so of black screen before you see what's going on, which can lead enemies getting free hits at you, if you, say, reloaded a weapon. As for the graphics.. It seems that HiJinx forgot that the TV's today are pretty much all widescreen. This is the case on my old sdtv, anyways... So, all in all, after the first playthough, I'd say that SH2HD is ok, when the original SH2 was great.

	I just started playing Silent Hill 2 and the first thing I noticed was, the games almost Black and White. Granted it was always dreary but it just seems that when they converted it, it became more monochrome. I'm playing on a Samsung 22" LED HD TV so I can't blame the TV. I looked at SH3 and it seems the color is better in that game.

	The only problem I had with the Silent Hill 2 remake was the fog, or rather lack of. I understand why it was there in the first place, to mask the PS2's draw distance limitations, but it really added a lot of atmosphere to the town. Not having it at all pretty much ruined the setting, especially being able to see the map's edge in some locations. It also didn't help that the blacks got super black and the same goes for the white levels.

	Yea, your right it did seem like they eliminated a lot of the fog when you're walking through the town. I don't know why. I'm in the apartments know and they look about the same as the original game. I was hoping they woud of enhanced the games a little better though. I was thinking about re-loading the PC version of this game to compare the graphics, but now that I have an HD monitor I'm not sure if I want to deal with the squatty graphics etc. HD monitors and TV's are great but I find myself not playing some of my older games because they look so horrible in HD.

	Know exactly what you mean. Even if you adjust the resolution it looks muddy. I had to bust out my old set to play this and Sly. Imo, all "HD Collections" should be done the way Ico was -- both of those games look so utterly gorgeous in hi-def. I think that might also be the only collection released thus far that doesn't require up scaling to output in 1080p.

	I wouldn't say it's muddy, I has just comparing the HD Collection to the PS2 version and other than the screen fitting the HD format, the graphics don't seem that much better. I also stated that I'm tempted to install the PC version of the game on my new computer. The Graphics on the PC version seemed better. Now that I think about it, on the PC version you could change the resolution. Maybe I will try that. When I talked about older games, I meant that when you play some PS2 games on HD TV's they look terrible i.e. I tried to play FFX on the HD TV and it was bad.

	Sorry, when I said "muddy" I was referring to the cut scenes. In general, the game looks much crisper -- too crisp for some of the angles.
