GTA V Article in June Edition of PSM3 Magazine - Multiplayer Speculation & More

Just stumbled across an article from the June edition of PSM3 Magazine regarding GTA 5 which I thought I'd share. Check it out:

It's pretty much all speculation about multiplayer featuring more prominently in the game, with the lines being blurred between single player and multiplayer scenarios as well as hints at persistent characters, etc. There was an interesting stat in there too showing that less than 30% of players of the Xbox version of GTA IV finished the main story which was sorta telling; the idea being that factoring in more multiplayer situations and tying it in with storyline progression and missions will both allow story progress as well as cater to those who enjoy mutliplayer chaos to bring a more enjoyable experience on both fronts.

It's an interesting read anyway even if it provides us with nothing new. Check it out and let's hear your thoughts!

I could see this being good. The multiplayer was pretty decent in GTA IV, but if they put more resources into it, then I could see myself coming back to it a lot. I know Rockstar will have the story mode down pat, so I can't wait to see where they go with multiplayer.

I personally think it also indicates how much less important a single player campaign appears to be getting as the video game era continues, probably in part due to an awful attention span from younger gamers, unwilling to spend much time on that sort of thing. I hope it doesn't become something where multiplayer is essential to making progress in the storyline.

I'd like to go into a multiplayer freeroam session with a couple of mates and say:

"Right lads, what are we upto?"

And have more than about 4 potential responses. I dont wanna find myself scurrying around for weapon pickups like a hungry squirrel or driving round and round an empty boring airport because there is bugger all else to do.

I'd also like some kind of way to save progress. I'd like to save my own car and weapons, be able to unlock new vehicles and abilities and such. GTA games have such potential and it was not narly esploited well enough last time.

Multiplayer freeroam in GTAIV was solid and dependable but f**k me was it boring after a while.

I want solid free roam, with lots to do. Customizable cars that you have to pay for and buy that are kept until destroyed. Persistent characters.
