Educated "Rumor" of GTA V's Release Date - Grand Theft Auto V

	Log in to remove this sponsored message According to this article on Trendygamers, the date listed in an ad states "Winter 2012" as the likely release date of GTA V. Now, normally I wouldn't look much in to this, but I could totally see Rockstar going with an October/November release, if only to get their game out prior to Christmas 2012. Here's the actual article, and a link that shows the advertisement: quote TrendyGamers In the latest Future Shop flyer this week, they have narrowed down the Grand Theft Auto V release in an ad that allows you to save $20 on GTA V with a pre-order of Max Payne 3. The date is listed as ‘Winter 2012′, meaning that the game will most likely be released at the end of October or November. Rockstar just has to figure out which game they want to release their game against in those months since there is a huge AAA game every week in October and the beginning of November, save for the week of October 9th, which is now our guess for the GTA V release date. Check out our October 2012 and November 2012 Release Dates to see those AAA games. Link to article The only dispute I could possibly see with this would be that we don't have nearly enough information, yet. To contradict that dispute, however, Halo 4's release date is in November, and fans of that are barely getting anything out of 343 Studios, so Rockstar could be choosing to do the same and just release very little amounts of information. 	Only issue with October/November I see now is it is competition central. I mean yes Grand Theft Auto is big enough to crush most of them but they won't compete against Call of Duty. CoD was a brand new and tiny series when they last did an October launch with GTA: San Andreas.. Now, CoD sells more in a year than GTA IV sold over the span of three years. Is Rockstar really going to try their luck against competition they can't beat? I find that hard believe.

	Call of Duty is a totally different game and definitely does not appeal to the same audience. Saying that those games are competitors is like saying that a company that makes supercars is competing against an SUV maker.

Well not really I play both call of duty and grand theft auto and so do a lot of the people I know.

GTA does not sell as many as it does based on hardcore fans alone. If it did they wouldn't spend tens of millions advertising it. I imagine based on how many copies both franchises sell that there is a rather large crossover of players that like both. I like both.. Many people like both. You may not but that doesn't make it a rule.. Any game on the market is a competitor to every other game, if one person buys one game and can't afford to buy another then the other games lose out.. Why would Rockstar do that to themselves given that GTA and CoD are both popular franchises and both share a market. CoD whether you like it or not is a huge franchise, it's that big many people that play it are also GTA fans, if they buy CoD and can't afford GTA then Rockstar lose out. Now you could say well the opposite could also happen and yeah it could, but CoD is a very social franchise. It's multiplayer based at it's core. If their friends are buying CoD and not GTA they will buy CoD as they will get an immeasurable amount of fun with their mates in that than they will on their own in GTA. So yeah like I said when franchises are this big there is bound to be a sizeable crossover where fans like both and I imagine most would choose playing with their friends (in CoD) over GTA.

I find that hard believe. hmm this maybe true BUT EA DICE did release BF3 just 2 weeks before MW3 and there sales were pretty good even if they released it in October it would be the 'upper hand' as people will spend there money on this rather than the next releases...happens every year with games....and 9/10 times it works. -------------------

	It would be ambitious to go head to head with CoD, that's for sure. 	"Winter 2012" would mean it will be released in December. As for it being released in Oct/Nov it would crush any game with ease bar CoD and even then I'm pretty sure on the first day it would sell more than CoD, probably for a while actually. It would certainly dent and probably break Treyarch's (or rather Activsion's) hopes of breaking MW3's record for release date sales. I would love it if R* beat Activision. Anyway, back to GTA V, I can't wait. I will be at midnight release, the only other game I am looking forward to as much as this is 'The Last Of Us'. ------------------- TimeSplitters 2 HD remake pls.

San Andreas just had a little bit of everything, plus more, which I really enjoyed. Out of all of the games, there's no doubt I've played Vice City more than any of them.

The ghetto gangsta thing in GTA SA very nearly put me off of the whole thing. I hated it at first and found the first few missions a real struggle. But eventually the tongue in cheek comedy pulled it through and i started enjoying it. Vice city had the best story by miles, but GTA SA was just so much more varie, ambitious and technically advanced. And if i can be sentemental for a moment... beautiful. SA Gets my vote... just.
