Changes to multiplayer.

What changes would you like to see to GTAV's multiplayerfrom GTAIV ?

Im especially interested in your opinions on changes to free-roam. I'll start us off.

1: Weapon loadout. For me the most annoying part of GTAIV's freeroam, and the reason i stopped playing the game was weapon pickups. I absolutely hated this. Drive around for half an hour gathering an arsenal, die, start again. Utterly frustrating and boring experience.

How to fix this ? Allow us to carry our weapons/armour etc over from single player into freeroam. This would also make weapon farming in the main game more interesting and would greatly magnify the playability of multiploayer free roam.

2: Activities. It would be great to do some of the single player bowling, darts, pool and drinking activities with friends. If im honest when the game was released i thought that was the whole point of the activities. Again it would just enhance the playability of freeroam.

3: Car tuning, and saveable cars. Again it would be much more interesting to each have your own rides to compare, borrow, race, steal etc etc. It gets very boring constantly cruising around in generic cars.

4: When riding as a passenger in online free-roam, you should be able to fire whatever weapon you want out of the passenger window. Why not let them shoot assault rifles, LMG's and even RPG's out of the window ? Always thought that was a waste of decent weapons.

I agree with these points. Having to go and stock up on guns and ammo at the beginning of every single respawn is so tedious. And yeah, at times, it has been like, 'I can't be bothered to do that, I will stop playing now'. Definitely need some kind of system, even if it's like RDR's where you unlock weapons always have them, then only need to stock up on ammo if you run out.

It would be excellent to be able to fire anything from a window as a passenger. I always considered it way too restricted in IV, that we'd need to stop and get out before we could properly engage. Imagine being able to shoot rockets at a helicopter that's chasing you, it would be so intense.

I'd like to see the game modes like cop's & robbers bought back, I missed them in BoGT online. Some of those modes created the greatest laughs with me and my friends.

360 firing of a pistol or an uzi, restricted? IV is free as a bird compared to the drive bys of previous games.

In an online free mode with no rules i say yes. Why not let us fire a shotgun or AK-47 out the window ? Why cant we fire RPG's from moving helicopters ? etc etc.

Restrictive ? Very IMO. (BTW, we only mean as passengers, obviously a driver trying to handle a car and one handed AK-47 wouldnt be acceptable).

I've always wanted the cage fights from The Ballad of Gay Tony for multiplayer. Or maybe since it's going to be in Los Santos we can play online Demo Derby!!!!!! We could also use the arena for 1 on 1 shootouts in free roam.

Get rid of it, not joking. I love to see developers not follow the herd and tack on some multiplayer feature that people try and never use again. I think it's impressive to see developers know when their game is a single player game, and not a multiplayer one (like the original Bioshock, Elder Scrolls series, etc.). The more focus on single player, the merrier IMO.

But even if they add several more hours into the main story by taking out the multiplayer, the extra hours wont add up to the same amount of hours spent in multiplayer, not for me anyway.

GTA IV has so many game modes. It has more than most games, and most of them are pretty original, it's not so much capture the flag. Although some of them are some kind of variation of standard online game types.

For me adding online multiplayer was one of the most ground breaking features of GTA.

I just hope the bring back local co-op. Like in SA. But instead have it split screen. That would be fun.
