	I don't know how to get into any of that stuff!!! What kind of program would I need to open up that firmware thing??? Damn it I hate this stuff why can't they just be normal and have stuff work the first time and not have to go through all of this damn hassle. Madden works perfectly fine. 	you are suppose to save your firmware to something where you know you can get it. then you go to your 192.xxx.x.x the place where you set your router up. then go click on firmware. ------------------- animated gif of Terri Schaivo

	I don't know i'm never gonna figure this crap out. I have no idea where to find any of this stuff on my computer. I try searching for it, but it never finds anything. lol I just wanna play SOCOM online and be able to use my freakin headset is that to much to ask lol. Anyway do you know what program I should save the firmware to, so that I can open it??

	when you set your router up it tells you to go to 192.168.0.1 from there you want to click on the tabs on the top either Advanced or Tools and on the left you should see FIRMWARE. click on FIMRWARE and it should ask if you want to load or install firmware and you say yes and then you have to find where you dled the new firmware update to and open that up. ------------------- animated gif of Terri Schaivo

	Yeah, look in your router user manual, you will find the IP adresse of your unit. Type this adresse in the adresse bar of your web browser, you will fall on your router page menu, usually the password if you didnt change it is "admin" (the user manual will give you this info, you should change your pass though) then go in firmware update and there you go... good luck

	Yea wouldn't you know it I open up the page and try to put the user name in as admin and it still doesn't work, so I guess i'm screwed?!?!???? Any ideas?!?!?!

	I had the same problem with my headset when Socom II first came out. I have an SMC router and couldn't talk or hear anything. My advice....call Sony's tech line and explain the problem to them. That's what I did and they told me to open certain numbers up inside my router. When I did that the headset started working fine. I had to phone SMC's tech line to find out how to open up the numbers, but it's worth it because it sucks when you can't communicate. Hope this helped.

	before people knew about the firmware update i called d-link and they were like its broken theres nothing we can do. so basically dlink is no help. but for you they might be. oh wait maybe you should try reseting your router. and go through the set up again. and if you have trouble setting it up give them a call. and they should help you. if you dont know where the reset button is its on the back of the router by the power cord. you'll need a paper clip or something to press in there. i think you need to hold it for like 10 seconds or so to get it to reset ------------------- animated gif of Terri Schaivo

	There is a network adapter help guide on the official playstation website that helps you setup your router and to troubleshoot the headset problem. Click on this link for the guide. http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/NetworkAdaptorFAQ Its a pretty long guide but it should solve your problem. It worked for me when I was setting mine up and i have no problems with my headset...I have a SMC router also. It takes you step by step on setting up your router.

If this is your first time going into your router's admin/setup page, you shouldn't need a username or password because you haven't set it up yet. Just click OK and follow the instructions on the guide i posted above.

	I've tried resetting it, but for some reason it doesn't work. I've tried just hitting ok, and that doesn't work. And i've tried putting admin in as the user name and that didn't work???? I mean resetting it should work but it didn't. I guess i'll keep trying stuff and start calling around to see what I can do because this really sucks playing online without it. I'm gonna go thru that link you put and see what I can find there. Thanks for all the help guys.

	I have a bit of a n00b question for the novices. Assuming that I'm correct about the network adaptor plugging into the phoneline, will it work if I plug it into a phone jack that isn't currently hooked up to a phone service? It's just that we've had one of our phone lines cancelled and there are about 3 spare phone jacks around the house doing dick-all. It would just be nice to put one of 'em to good use. ------------------- CC
