If I get this years game I am considering carrying out a similar project to last year with the northern Irish league which I will link at some point.

I'm aware after doing it last year some people would have preferred the restructure but without the change in team reputations etc. With this in mind if anyone is interested and has any pre requirements feel free to let me know and I will attempt to accommodate.

Why not complete the re-structure "as is" and save it; then edit the reputations and save again, then you'll have 2 db's that people can choose from.

I suppose that would be the sensible thing to do, so I will!!

Wish I didn't have to go through it all again to be honest but the league is very restrictive without. Hopefully it's easier to edit international comps this year!

I'm assuming your 2011 db files won't be compatible with 2012?

I think you can import, you could for FM11 (from FM10), but it could be buggy.

Might give that a go first. If is buggy its buggy if not then I have saved days of work!!

Innevitably il start all over anyway!!

After initial investigation it turns our I may not have to go to quite the same level this year as I did last. It appears that northern Irish clubs will buy non uk and Irish players which means I dont need to recreate the entire nation! Major bonus that but still a complete pyramid to recreate!!

I've made it so that the cup goes like so:
1st Preliminary Round (8 teams total) - 8 teams start here, which I have set as 8 non-league teams,
2nd Preliminary Round (4 teams total) - The four winners are drawn into 2 games, with the 2 winners progressing into the 1st round proper,
1st Round (32 teams total) - 30 League teams (14 Prem, 16 D1) + the 2 non-league teams to create 16 games,
2nd Round (16 teams total) - There are 4 groups of 4 teams, with 8 teams progressing
Quarter Final (8 teams total)
Semi Final (4 teams total)
Final (2 teams total)

When I test nation rules it tells me the number of teams in the final must be divisible by 2. I've set the number of teams in competition to 38 (30 league teams plus the original 8 non-league sides) so would this be affecting it?

Help much appreciated!

It has nothing to do with the number of teams starting in the comp, but suggests that somewhere through the rounds the numbers are not adding up right, perhaps a typo as the format suggest all should be fone.

If you upload the db ill take a look.

Cheers mate, driving me mental.. Want to push on and make more but I seem to hit so many problems! The link for my Albanian structure (the one I'm having the problem with) is here.

Another problem i'm having, is that my databases are interfering with each other when put into the game. I created American Samoa (had to create 4 new teams) but when I go to load it, there are two teams that I created for my Albanian databse. I've checked the Unique ID's and they're different from each other so i'm at a loss to understand why it's putting two Albanian teams into the American Samoan databse!?!

The reason it isnt working is because you have entered the number of teams going in at each stage but not the number of matches!!

enter the following figure corresponding to each round in the "Number of Matches" column, under the number of teams at this stage box.

Qual round 1 - 4 matches
Qual round 2 - 2
First Round - 16
QF - 4
SF - 2
F - 1

you also need to enter the dates that each round will take place.

You also have 45 teams in the competition but according to each round only 38 teams enter the tournament.

14 from Kat Superiore
16 from Kat e Pare
15 from Kat e Dyte

You either need to reduce the lowest league teams entering to just 8 and change the total teams entering the comp to 38 or re configure the tournament to account for the extra 7 sides.

If you make all these changes it will work fine.

Not sure about your other problem right now but I might be able to have a look over the weekend!

could any one possibly do a USA one? like expansion leagues.

The Unique ID's are different on the affected teams so i'm lost.. Once this is sorted hopefully I can crack on and make some more because I don't think there's any more problems

Even so, after correcting that it won't let me load both databases together. I've written down every unique ID from the Albanian and American Samoan databases, and there's no clashes now. Both databases work fine when run on their own, the problems only arise when they are tried together. It then tells me at the select leagues page that there is too few teams in Group 1 of Samoa (7 instead of 8), and that there are not enough teams in Kategoria 1 of Albania (14 instead of 16).

Totally baffled I was good with databases at college as well!
