Guild01 is an interesting 3DS project from Level-5, Grasshopper and Vivarium that includes four different games each made by a different designer. Currently, the title has only been released in Japan, but some recent trademarks in the United States may portend a wider release. Both Crimson Shroud and Liberation Maiden (a translation of Suda51's Kaihō Shōjo) were trademarked.
Each of the four titles in Guild01 are wildly different. Suda51's Liberation Maiden is a shooter about a Japanese mech battling an invading country that's stealing all of Japan's energy. Omasse's Rental Weapon Shop, from Yoshiyuki Harai, is a fantasy rhythm RPG built around forging weapons and running a store. Aero Porter is an airport baggage simulation game from Yoot Saito and Crimson Shroud is a more typical action RPG from Yasumi Matsuno and developed internally at Level-5.
Considering that only two of the four games in Guild01 have been trademarked, it could be likely the individual titles will be made available for download. The idea of a compilation package of Japanese designers that may be unknown out of Japan could be difficult to market, after all. Either way, it would be great to see Guild01 come overseas, especially considering Guild02 has already been announced and will include work from the likes of Keiki Inafune (Mega Man), Kazuya Asano, Takemaru Abiko and Kaz Ayabe.
