Q1: ¿What is growlanser?
Growlanser is a series of Srpg games created by CarrerSoft, the characters are created by hentai artist satoshi Urushihara, there are currently 6 numbered Growlanser games along 2 psp ports of Growlanser 1 and Growlanser 4.

Q2: ¿How is the Growlanser series gameplay?
The gameplay of growlanser is unique and it doesnt compare to any other games (Some say that compares to shining force).

Q3: ¿Do i have to know Growlanser 1,2 and 3 story to understand this game?
No this one has a history by its own.

Q4: ¿To what Growlanser game this game resembles most?
If you take Growlanser 1 world map and dungeons and growlanser 3 battle system (With some modifications) you get Growlanser 4.

Q5: ¿I like srpgs like Disgaea and FFT, i will like this game?
Growlanser doesnt resemble those games since the Battles are real time and the characters doesnt move in square based areas plus the game isnt grinding based when it comes to battles, they are most like choosing to learn the correct abilities and have a good strategy to each battle, so you will like this game if you like srpgs in general but if you espect something like Disgaea or FFT you will be dissapointed.

Q6: ¿Is the Main Character a silent protagonist like in Growlanser 3 and 5?
Yes, Crevaniel the Main character is silent and you can rename him he is just as cool as most silent protagonists.

Q7: ¿How different are the battles from most srpgs?
The game uses history missions wich are considered Boss Battles, those missions arent just to kill all enemies, sometimes you must protect some NPCs from Dying, reach certain point on the map defeat certain enemies, killing set amount of enemies and more. plus at the end of each mission you get a score based on how you dealt with the missions wich affect how many money, experience you get.

Q8: ¿How the affection system works?
To increase your relationship with the characters you must try to be nice to them and choose any asnwer trough the game according to the characters personality.

Getting the best results in missions increases the characters opinion of their leader (you)and thus increasing your relationship.

At some point of the game you get vacations, the vacations are spend with characters and during them you talk, do things with the characters and increase your relationship by choosing the correct asnwers.

I like what you guys are doing with this thread but let's try not to turn it into a general question thread ie. someone ask a question and another answers. Its best to promote people to create individual threads when in doubt since that disperse the liability of this forum for search engines and even for someone wanting to find an answer via the search function on Neoseeker.

I'll change the thread title and have it open in case anyone else wants to contribute to the FAQ. This is a good concept and we can add all these Q's and A's in an upcoming Full Info thread once we get that settled.

Well, not quite a boss but more of a friend and an RPG maniac . I'm open to any suggestion, feedback or request for the forum and its community.

Continue on contributing to the thread, its a good concept. Having everyone pitch in with their FAQ's is surely a great way to provide information and helpful resources to anyone interested in this game.

PS: I twitted this thread. We might get more growlanser fans to come on in and contribute to the series.

One question that I think people new to Growlanser will definitely have is "What is the difference between 'Mission Complete', 'Mission Clear', and 'Mission Failed'?"

I actually don't entirely remember the difference between Clear and Complete.
