Well, just put the DVD or CD1 in your discdrive. Wait untill Windows detects it. Choose were you want to install it and click 'OK' at all screens. When you're done, enter your CDkey which should be in the jewelcase of the game or on the back of your manual.

im quite disconcerned, ppl telling on forums that a computer around my specs (amd xp 2200+, 512mb, 9600xt @ 256 mb) will do da game reasonably well...
well... actually it sucks cocks in hell....
i tried hard to make the game perform... but i'm always down to 15-25 fps @ lowest quality @ 640x480 (and it looks like crap with these settings, even older games like RTCW are much more impressing)

and yeah, i know how to optimize my computer for 3d games.

tell me ppl....
what the *bleep* am i doing wrong if i did anything wrong???
or is it just normal for most ppl out there that a computer that runs a game @ lowest detail @ around 20 fps does it "well" ???

Hey guys, I've got a Laptop P4 HT 3.06 GHz, 1 GB RAM, with 64 MB Intel Extreme Graphics 2.

I essentially more than double the min system requirements except for video memory, and when trying to play Doom 3 it lagged like hell, but if you use a program called Text Pad (just type in "Text Pad" in google) you can change Doom 3's software configuration to use whatever amount of RAM you designate to aid your video memory. Now, my Laptop is pumpin' out 30 FPS at a medium quality setting. ...lol, and all the tech guys I've been asking have been telling me that my laptop would never manage anything over 10 FPS at low quality. E-mail me (iamthegame182@hotmail.com) for details on how to do it, its pretty simple really. Hope this helps someone.

Amazingly well. if im not mistaken, geforce 6800 ultra sli means that you have two graphics cards in your computer. In this case two geforce 6800 ultra's. Each one is running half of your monitor, making the game look great. Your computer can run anygame out there.

Considering the evidential proof that you have revealed about your miniscule and, as they call it, "Pansy-assed" computers i would be surprized to see even half of you able to play a game that requires a seemingly well made system.

SLI only supports nVidia-cards, and they have to be two of the same. And you claim to have 2 different Ati-cards...
I assume a seemingly PC-geek like you would know how Ati calls their version of SLI...

also you should know that for SLI to work you generally need 2 SLI nVIDIA cards that are actually the same.

I have Doom 3 setup and when I installed it there was an error regarding my cfg file and it didn't get installed because of that. Can anyone send me a copy of there Doom 3 default cfg file at otbelite1@yahoo.com or otbelite1@hotmail.com? I would really appreciate it.

Plays doom 3 perfectly. Even a simple computer setup like this will play Doom 3 nicely on "ultra" graphics.

^To the guy who said he uses ATI video cards in a SLI setup, with non matching cards to boot: you are either an idiot, or a liar. ATI cards use a crossfire setup. And even then, its just not as powerfull as the SLI inteface.
