	Log in to remove this sponsored message Breaking News! Liverpool FC has today announced the departure of manager Kenny Dalglish. The decision was taken to come to the mutual termination of the Liverpool manager, after the club board came to the conclusion a fresh approach would benefit the dressing room. Liverpool have already drawn up a short-list of possible replacements for Dalglish, with the highly respected Guus Hiddink and Louis Van Gaal topping the candidates, along with Spain manager Vincent Del Bosque. Steve Clarke, the current assistant manager of the Reds, will step in as a caretaker in the short-term, until a replacement is announced, with the club hoping to find a successor in the next few weeks. The five-man Liverpool board made the unanimous decision over the weekend, and they also have the backing of chairman Thomas Werner, who is thought to believe that the club can only move forward by bringing stability to the manager’s role opposed to a quick fix caretaker. The directors have decided that situation can’t be allowed to go on any longer, and they will now move quickly to appoint a stable manager who they can put all their faith in. However the new boss will NOT be given money to spend, with only around £2million set aside for new players, with a guarantee, too, that any money from sales will be used solely for recruitment. With Dalglish bringing in the likes of Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Andy Carroll the new boss could find it difficult to generate a kitty that could satisfy his needs. Thomas Werner had this to say: quote We here at Liverpool Football Club understand the potential backlash we are likely to receive from the fans, however we plead with them to get behind us and welcome whoever may become the new manager. We had a long drawn out discussion with Kenny and both parties believed that it was time for someone with fresh and exciting ideas would be beneficial and bring Liverpool back to where they belong. Any manager would be lucky to inherit the squad Kenny has left so hopefully we can appoint the right man and return the good times. Kenny waves goodbye again.

	New Boss In Charge. Dean Jackson will be confirmed as the new Liverpool manager, the Liverpool Echo newspaper is reporting. The paper claims the unknown manager is to be announced as Kenny Dalglish’s replacement after the Reds agreed a 2 year contact with wages estimated at £30,000pw. Negotiations had been going on between Liverpool's managing director Ian Ayre and Dean Jackson. The Echo reports he was always the frontrunner for the job, thanks to a personal interest from former manager Kenny Dalglish. Other names included former Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini and Galatasary's Frank Rijkaard. The Liverpool post will be Jackson’s 1st professional managerial position in his career. Dean Jackson: I think that’s possibly a bad judgement, granted this is my first professional management job. Reporter: How do you think you'll manage to win over the dressing room? Dean Jackson: I don’t think this should be much of a problem, there’s a squad full of international footballers. If they have trouble accepting me as there manager then we’ll have to dip into the market to find them a new club. Reporter: It’s reported that you only have £2m to spend, is it true that you have to sell to buy? Dean Jackson: There is some truth in that, whether we need to buy is another question. As for any new manager, we’ll assess the playing staff and we’ll see if there are any flaws which need to be answered. Reporter: Tell us a bit more about your pre-season plans. Pre-Season Fixtures Dean Jackson: Well we’ve decided on several teams that will be competitive, this will give us a real sense of where we are as a club. Therefore showing us how close we will be to our objectives come May. Reporter: Can you really tell after 7 games what you’ll achieve after 9months? Dean Jackson: If we win 7 out of 7 will we have a competitive season? Yes. If we lose 7 out of 7 do I feel we’ll struggle? Yes. Confidence is key, and confidence is breed through victories. Reporter: You mentioned your objectives, what may they be? Dean Jackson: Realistically, regaining our place in the Champions League is a must. The Premier League has developed 6 really top teams. Spurs have had a really successful period recently, Man City’s situation is well documented and Man U/Arsenal/Chelsea all have their Premier League history. Do I believe I can deliver the Prem? 	It is today being reported that Dean Jackson has set his sights on the young starlet Mario Gotze, after a successful season with Dortmund Gotze is considered one of Europe’s hottest properties coveted by many of Europe’s top teams; Barcelona, Madrid, United etc. Many believe Jackson is being rather ambitious with this revelation as it was revealed Jackson only had a mediocre £2million transfer budget. He did however have this to say: quote Dean Jackson Of course Gotze will be a top top player, Can we bring him to Anfield? We’d sure love it if we could. Is it the right time to do so? Maybe not. With much speculation about Lucas and Reina’s futures swirling around, maybe Jackson’s dream of Mario Gotze at the Kop won’t be too far away. In other news Jay Spearing has agreed a season long loan deal with Championship outfit Southampton, whilst Nathan Eccleston has joined Brentford for 6 months.

	Fans hit out at Jackson! After a horrendous pre-season campaign, which saw Liverpool secure 1 draw 3 defeats and 2 victories, many Liverpool fans have have hit out at the club and the manager. Before the Premier League season has even begun fans are already calling for the head of Jackson indicating he would simply undo all the work Kenny Dalglish done over the last 6 months of the 2010/11 campaign. Two of those defeats came in embarrassing fashion to affiliate Genk and Leicester City, however the shining light came in the final two games of pre-season where everything clicked for Jackson’s men. However it seems to a bit much for the Liverpool faithful who have little to no confidence in Jackson’s ability to lead. With the season opener against Wigan only a week away, will the board stick to their guns or back down to the fans backlash? Fan shows his frustration Good news for Jackson however, is the acquisition of Antony Vanden Borre and Jelle Vossen from Genk for £325,000 and £2m respectively. Jackson is said to of been happy at their performances during the pre-season game between Genk & Liverpool. Jackson had this to say about the acquisition of Vossen. quote Dean Jackson He scored 20 goals last season to project Genk to the Belgium league, at the age of 22 he’s young enough for us to nurture him but experienced enough to slot into our squad and pop up with some goals. 	Transfer Window Slams Shut. Liverpool have brought in 3 players over the transfer period totalling up a price of £2,325,000. Impressing in the pre season game vs Genk, Anthony Vanden Borre and Jelle Vossen have both joined with ambitions said to of been matched by that of the manager. Other additions include the 37 year old Robert Pires, it is believed that Pires impressed during his 4 week trial this prompting Jackson to offer a 1 year deal. Jay Spearing and Nathan Eccleston have both left the club on loan deals. Jackson had this to say on the transfer window; quote Dean Jackson We've brought in 3 very good players that'll improve the current squad and be very competitive for positions. AVB is a lovely footballer who has had a very long top professional career and its astonishing he's only 23, He's very versatile being able to play on defence or in the middle of the park. He'll be great cover for defence and can really push Charlie (Adams) and Lucas for a midfield slot. Everyone knows about Pires and what he's achieved over his career, he brings vital experience which will only benefit the younger players in the long run. He could be a vital player for us this season, as his quality is still there to be seen. Jelle Vossen is an interesting acquisition, propelled Genk to a league title and hopefully he can continue his goalscoring form here. quote Dean Jackson Very disappointed with just a draw here, we’ve mullered them on possession. We’ve only had 3 shots on target today, and we’ve scored 2 goals. That tells me if we can get more shots on target we’ll score a lot more goals, it sounds elementary but it’s something that needs to be worked on. We have some great players here at Liverpool so we shall be working on shooting this week I feel.

I wasn’t very happy conceding within 5 minutes but to turn it round and be 2-1 up after 19 was a fabulous response from my boys. Today was a big game between two big teams and I think that shows in how even the stats are. We’ve had a 50% shots on target record today, we’ll have to increase that so we aren’t left with nail biting finishes like today. That’s what football is all about though and Jelle has popped up again with the last kick of the game to win it. However we have a squad of players so its right to bring in the likes of Danny Wilson, Jack Robinson, Martin Kelly and Big Andy to give them more match fitness so they can really push for a starting XI position. Training is really paying off and we are getting a lot more of our shots on target, this is very beneficial as we are leaking goals. We will have to shore that problem up, Pepe (Reina) is back from his injury so maybe this will help. However Brad has been on a good run conceding 5 in 5 but defence errors have made this fact seem worse than it is. 	Ferguson recognises Liverpool threat Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Liverpool will be a force to be reckoned with again this season after two years outside the top four. All of the clubs new signings have all settled very well and gelled quickly, this is such a positive thing for the club. We have an ambitious group of players who we’ll trust throughout the year. Everybody within football knows the rivalry between the two clubs, how do I feel with the expectation of a victory? Well the fans are starting to change their opinion of me, they’ve seen that inexperience doesn’t always mean lack of ability. However the expectation is rather daunting, but I’m here to prove people wrong. This is possibly one of the top 5 fixtures in world football, if not the best. This rivalry is well dated but with United overtaking Liverpool with a 19th league title last season the rivalry has been magnified, Its games like this that make the Premier League what it is. On cue. Not at all happy with what I’ve seen, Downing completes a great passing move cutting open United’s defence. Then José gets a rush of blood and hacks Valencia down, terrible challenge. The club will deal with that, however we all know José isn’t that sort of player. That clearly didn’t help, maybe I’ve made the wrong decision in starting Steven today but he’s made the assist so it’s bittersweet with subbing him at halftime. I can’t say we didn’t give it a go in the second half but what can you do at Old Trafford with a man down? Something I can’t believe is the ref and his time keeping, at half time two minutes of added time is given and United are taking shots in the 49th minute? Yet full time arrives, four minutes are added and the game doesn’t go a second after. Interesting. We’ll have to forget this game, Chelsea are coming to Anfield in a week. Hopefully the crowd will give them a reason to be worried.
