RedLynx has decided to capitalize on the impending end of the world, announcing today the upcoming release of The Riders of Doom DLC for Trials Evolution. Packed full of new tracks, tournaments, multiplayer races, skill challenges and jokes about the four motocross-men of the apocalypse, Riders of Doom is a great addition to a game 9 months after release. If the world's going to end anyways, why not spend it being frustrated playing an insanely difficult motorcycle game?
Here's what Trials Evolution fans can look forward to in The Riders of Doom DLC, as provided in their trailer's description:
- 20 New Trials Tracks
- 10 All-New Skill Games
- 5 Additional Supercross Tracks for Multilayer Madness
- 5 Brand-Spanking-New Tournaments to challenge even the most skilled riders!
Perhaps the most exciting thing about the DLC is a set of all new environments to explore and use in the game's map creator. Watching the trailer, you can see a desert boneyard, a futuristic skyscape, devastated city and highway, and what's probably supposed to be a Mayan temple. RedLynx calls the setting The Big Sand Lands and I expect they'll soon be littered with the bodies of unfortunate motorcyclists.
Trials Evolution's The Riders of Doom DLC is planned for release in December, and it's probably just waiting for approval through various licensing systems as we speak. The title's an XBLA exclusive, so make sure you've got 400 MSP handy and a hard drink to sooth your frustrations. A gold edition with all downloadable content will be coming to PC in 2013, however, if you can wait.
