The 87 Kagawa is probably in the top 3 of the players I've played with. Goes for around 110k on the PS3 but so worth it.

I've been eyeing up the 87 as the 90 is out of the question currently, should be able to grab him for around 70k which will take me some time to save up. Might sell TOTY Vert to get 75-80k, that combined with what I have right now should let me buy the SIF one again and get 87 Kagawa. Good to see Kagawa getting some praise, helps me make my decision on him.

Foquinha, that Jap/Serbian team looks decent but not for me. I'm debating a team using a fair few Moroccan players in a 3-5-2. I'm not sure how I can fill in the rest of the team. So far I have something like:

The amount of times I get cut open every game is ridiculous. And with a partnershi[p of IF Diawara and Alex, this should not happen. But whhhhhhyyy!?

because they are slow, and pace is king in this game. Sakho, Abdennour, M'Bia are all fairly quick. also try using more defensive minded full backs, who don't push up so much

But it's every game. its a joke.

get Moussa Sissoko and Younes Belhanda in midfield, they both have high defensive workrates, so will get back and help defend.

Well providing I can get rid of TOTY Vertonghen for at least the 75k I'm asking for I'll try out the 87, what was wrong with the 86 compared to the 84?

felt quite slow, passing wasn't great, the 84's finesse shot was really good, couldn't score with the 86 for some reason, maybe it was just me
one theory I've heard is that when a players dribbling gets significantly upgraded it makes them feel a lot slower because they take more touches of the ball

Pro King, all you really need is some defenders with decent pace and depending on the formation, players who have good work-rates. Like you don't really want a CDM who likes to get forward more than he does help out the defence. Similar with your defence. If you have 3/4 defenders who have high attack work-rate then you might get caught out a lot on the counter-attack.

Your defending must be the problem then unfortunately. You need to be one step ahead of your opponent at all times defensively in order to keep them away from the goal, and alot of players are predictable which makes it easier. Marking players likely to make a run and sending a second defender after the opposition is how I defend at times, as it's not good to rely on your AI to mark properly when the oppositions AI players make runs.

Plenty of players like to run down the wing, send in a cross, rinse and repeat constantly, so in this case I'd use a player to tail their winger who is making a run and then send a second defender to run after the player with the ball, ruining that chance of an attack.

Through balls and lobbed ones are usually simple too, it just comes down to the marking again, and if you get caught out that's when you'll need a pacey defender. Try to keep calm though, no rushing the keeper out, if you see any of their players making a run forward allowing them to score a guaranteed goal (passing it across the keeper/'tramp'/'jewgoal' etc.) then mark them, send a second defender after the man on the ball, and bringing the keeper out almost always means they will score.

That'd be a great defensive 5 in the formation Foquinha recommended.
