G-Rank Difficulty?

As long as there is a difficulty level higher than the highest available in Monster Hunter Tri, then I'll be happy. ^^ A good challenge in Monster Hunter is definitely a lot of fun.

Definitively. Especially if there's something to work towards. In MH3 the high rank sets look identical to the lower ranks ones. With skill variations. G-Rank will definitively be a welcome change as the sets you can build actually look different. Is the same true for weapons ?

G-Rank weapons sometimes look different, in the case of the Kirin Dual Swords.
Sometimes they can just be a colour variation, like the Ceanataur Greatsword.

Yeah, I just hope that the end game quests can still prove a challenge even with end game weapons, y'know? I also hope there isn't a 'best' end game weapon, either, like how the Ala LS was the best LS in MH3, Jho GS the best GS, etc..

I also hope there's no more Helios with Vangis Greaves combos.

No. There is no way they would showcase the best of any type of equipment in the demo. Sure, some armaments from the demo are more difficult to obtain than others, but none were high ranked.

As for G-rank, I can assure those curious this will be a challenge unlike any from the past MH3 title. G-rank monsters are incredibly fierce, often making taking a single hit a near-fatal mistake; as such, evasion and avoiding damage become more of a priority than inflicting the most damage you can; damage over time becomes a superior tactic to immediate damage. They boast superior health to lesser creatures, so they're much more difficult to defeat. I've hunted in a two-man group for as long as I've played Monster Hunter, and, while we were victorious more often than not, the G-rank quests were ones we failed most often.

It surely will be much more difficult than MH3, but I'm worried incase a hit from a monster won't be near-fatal anymore, thus reducing the challenge that defines G-Rank. I've never saw anyone who has imported this game comment on the difficulty. I've watched videos on Youtube of MH3U's G-Rank and have seen monsters (like Lagiacrus and Azure Los) only reducing the players health by 1/4. This is the root of my concern, and I just can't shake the feeling that this game won't have the same difficulty as MHFU.
