European Persona series lovers are really getting it stuck to 'em lately: first Persona 4: Golden was delayed in the region, and now Persona 4: Arena is being delayed, too. Worse, unlike with Golden, you can't import, since this installment is region locked.
The reason for the delay is down to the certification process, which apparently is horribly inefficient.
“For all EU games, there are a number of changes that need to be done to bring it in line with the regulations laid out by Sony and Microsoft in Europe,” reads a FAQ on the matter. “These regulations are to ensure the game will work correctly in each individual PAL territory, from individual EU countries to Australia and UK. It is at this point in the process, that the game has been delayed.”
It's said localization could've brought about a faster release, but external company Zen United refused to do so for some unspecified reason.
On the bright side, you can expect something extra for your trouble.
“You will get something nice for the delay, yes," the FAQ continues. "We understand everyone's frustration surrounding this, so we are preparing something - and we'll announce that once the new schedule for release is in place.”
