When it does open, players will be able to pre-order the shooter via Steam. PlayStation 3 players, meanwhile, will be able to pre-order the downloadable game on the PlayStation Store next week come August 14. Hidden Path Entertainment, who previously contributed to the development of Counter-Strike: Source, is developing the title. It'll be the first game in Valve's franchise to launch simultaneously on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will release on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, as well as Steam on August 21 for $15. 	Meh, I've been in the CS:GO beta and don't really like it; it's very CoD-esque. It's less competitively-oriented than CS1.6 and less modifiable and customizable than CS:S. I also played CS:S since beta in 2003-04 and what really struck me was how much mod-friendly the Source engine was, Valve gave the users the power to mod the game and turn it into whatever they wanted. In CS:GO though, Valve takes that power back for themselves and you have to play the game the way Valve wants you to play the game.
