As predicted i've been FM'd. I basically played like Spain, against Spain and still ended up losing. We had 21 shots to their 8, 60% possession to their 40% (obviously), completed 80% of our passes (to their poor 60%), we hit the woodwork, and had 3 clear cut chances (they didn't have any) yet they scored from a corner via Dominguez and Jones put one in his own net later in that first half. That's put a right downer on our Olympics and it's denied me of a Gold medal, having to settle for the Silver.

Can't wait to open the Premiership campaign, although I do have a very tough start to the season facing Blackburn (H), Spurs (A), Chelsea (H), Sunderland (A), Man United (H). Normally I would attempt to aim for 6 points against Sunderland and Blackburn after them finishing 15th and 17th in the first season but I can't underestimate sides in my first year of returning to the Premiership, i'm just hoping some of the pace in my team will allow us to play successfully on the counter filtered through the wings. This is how I intent to start off the season...


Hopefully that will work if not I have other players such as - Pizarro, Adrien, Vellios, Manucho, Velikonja etc to use if needs be. I'm aiming for around 15th place in the league this season.

Liverpool_96 Excellent work with Elgin. I presume you've got a couple of decent regens?

Managed to sign Ben Watson and a couple of regen defenders so far. Will be interesting to see how I do this year, I reckon I could sneak into the play offs if I don't get off to an abysmal start.

I'm beginning to notice more than a few comparisons to my reign as Liverpool manager to that of Rafa Benitez.. firmly established in the top four, good cup side, never quite in the title race. now entering my sixth season, I'm still to win the league which may be unheard of on these forums for someone managing a big club, but I console myself with the fact that I've tried to do things properly and realistically (without laying down any really "rules" for myself, like no foreign signings for example). besides, City are *bleep*ing ridiculous. Aguero and Dzeko finished first and third respectively in the golden shoe (either side of Suarez <3) and won the league with 98 points last season. still, I have a good feeling about 2016/17. just cruised past Arjen Robben's Feyenoord in the champions league qualifiers 5-0 on aggregate.

Had to give up as this bug is killing me. None youth player will sign a new contract even though they complain that they want to sign up. There's obviously a bug so I will try and start again.

Very fed up as was really enjoying it.

nufcfan, I'm sure you've posted in this forum, I remember you from most FM forums as well. SLB still plays - probably - but just isn't as active. Seems like the forums are finally starting to fall, however there are a lot of newbies around here.
